Why did I start my business?
I knew as a small boy I wanted to be a carpenter, and just after high school '79, I went to work for Grupe Development and as they say that's that's.

And from there I took it on as a mission to enhance the life's of as many home owners as I could, with the Quality of our workmanship & knowledge of building & design for custom homes, home addition & remodels.

Dry Rot

Most common are the failure of floors, walls, headers & rafters.

Cuts in electrical wire?

What happens when you cut into a home electrical wire?

Cut Electrical that was repaired improperly We were recently on a job to repair damages that was left by another Contractor. The home owner was having problems with their cable so I went under their home to find electrical lines that were cut down to the copper wire and with black burnt marks on them.

Instead of the contractor repairing the cut that they made the proper way, they instead taped it up with yellow tape. The proper way to repair a cut electrical wire is to place this in a junction box which has to be assessible either inside the home or on the outside of the home. Not hidden out of sight and buried.

As you can clearly see in this picture, the cut electrical line was hidden under the home owners home and not repaired up to code. This if not found could have caused the home owner to loose their home and maybe even lives to fire. We then proceeded to uncover many cut electrical lines like the one you see in the picture and repaired all cuts to code. The home owner now is feeling safe again.

How to fix a faucet leak

A plumbing leak cost you money in the form of a water bill or when you call a contractor.

To fix the leak in a plumbing fixture
  • Turn the water off
  • Take the handle off the faucet
  • Next remove the nut
  • Now remove the center
Most leaks are caused by a crack in the rubber washer at the bottom, you can pick up the washers up at any hardware store.

Having Problems Closing Your Door

Here is something that will help you with a problem door that will not close. A lot of older houses have a door or two that rub. Most of the time this is caused by one of two things, either the weight of the door it self is pulling down over time, or abuse; like kids hanging on the door handle.

Here's a quick fix!
  • Remove the inner most screw of the top hinge on the jam.
  • Replace it with a screw. This should suck the jam over a little.

If the screw doesn't pull the door over far enough. There is one more thing you can do ( short of using a planner).
  • Pull the hinge pins.
  • Then take a crescent wrench, bend the hinge slightly the way you would like the door to move and there you have it.
