Can someone really earn $4000 a month in a year?

 

This lens details my experiences with the Retire in One Year System (RIOY).

5/21/08 Important changes to RIOY!

RIOY has completely changed their programs. This was just announced last night. I will provide full details shortly.

My first three months 

It's been about three months since I joined the Retire in One Year System.  I also joined some other programs at the same time unrelated to RIOY.  I've been working extremely hard marketing all of the opportunities I've been a part of.  This includes blogging, traffic exchanges, email marketing, and posting on numerous forums.  Although I am committed to at least a year with RIOY, I can provide some feedback for anyone who is considering joining this program. 

The positives:

  • They have a number of solid programs that don't cost much and will bring results.  These include Total Team Profit, All-Teamed Up, TrafficWave, and The Online Ad Network. If you are new to internet marketing, it is very hard to know what programs to go with.  Everyone makes such great claims of how easy it is to make money with this and that, but the reality always paints a different picture.  I joined some non-RIOY recommended programs at the same time I joined RIOY, and I've marketed them just as much if not more than RIOY.  My results.............terrible! 

    • The moral is that it is probably better to let experienced, well-connected professionals guide you to what works in order to have a significantly higher probability of success.  I'll tell you firsthand, the $35 I spend on RIOY a month (plus required core programs cost ~$38 per month) is extremely worth it.

  • They've added some great new programs that I've gone into profit immediately with.  T3P is a good advertising program that is only $5 per month and is a forced matrix so there is spillover opportunity.  Driven Rapid Wealth has been almost too good to be true.  You can read my Squidoo lens about it and see how excited I am.  FreebieForce is another one of their fairly new programs, and you can easily earn back your $9.95 a month if you take advantage of all the free offers they have.

    • The challenges:


  • It can be tough to get referrals and even harder to convert them to members.  I imagine this speaks to any online business opportunity.  RIOY does make a great effort to promote teamwork and to get leads into the system, and I know they have some things in the works to make this system much better.  I'm fortunate to have a wonderful sponsor who gave me a new member about a month after joining.  It's this type of team spirit that can really give someone a boost of enthusiasm.

  • It can take a while before things get happening and money starts coming in.  In this age of instant gratification it can be hard to be patient.  RIOY's success depends a great deal on members sticking with it, and they have some great incentives to make that happen such as the new options to pay a lump sum up front and get paid on a monthly basis so that joining all the RIOY programs doesn't cost you anything.  I am committed to at least a year and will stick through the thick and the thin.  If you are the type of person that realizes that success doesn't come overnight, then this may be the program for you.  If you want to get rich quickly, then it probably won't happen here, though I wouldn't doubt it if RIOY did someday find a program that could vastly accelerate financial success!

  • You need to put some effort in to really make things happen! RIOY does get advertised as a "passive" program and states they will do all the work for you.  Yes, they do a lot, but you can certainly accelerate your potential earnings by doing your own internet marketing.  Every RIOY program has extensive information about how to market those programs successfully.  At the very least you need to pay attention to what is going on!  This means staying up to date with all the programs' features by reading the RIOY forums and listening to the weekly calls. 

    Overall, I believe the leaders of RIOY are hard at work each day trying to improve the results of the current programs, and to find new programs that will quickly bring RIOY members to profit.  They are constantly trying to improve their system and get more qualified referrals into the system. 


    It is important to keep in mind that RIOY only works like a consultant to steer people in the right direction, and does not have any control of the programs they recommend so things are not always going to go perfectly well such as Bigorilla. 

    In summary, I am very happy I joined RIOY because I know if I stick with them long enough I will be in a great position to not only profit from the existing programs, but I will sometimes have the opportunity to get into programs before others know about them ---- and that might be one of the real secrets to internet success!
