Flower Seed Baby Shower Favor

Every women loves flowers, so here is one project that is very cute and simple to do.

Making flower seed baby shower favor will look beautiful on the tables or in baskets arranged around the home. This is also a great way of symbolizing the birth of the new baby on the way, with the birth of flowers for all the party goers to take home. These are the simple steps it takes to create these charming favors.

1. Choose which flower seeds you would like to use. Maybe the new mom's favorite flower or you could pick multiple flowers the symbolize to you and the mom babies and families.

2. Purchase very small sachet bags. These come in many colors to choose from and have drawstrings attached. There is also a wide variety of materials you can pick from also. Picking a material that is see-through and matches the rest of the theme of the party.

3. Now, carefully open a packet of seeds and pour into one of the bags. You will want to be careful so that you can use the seed packet to label the bag, so the party goer knows which type of flower they have received.

4. Carefully cut away the name, a small picture of the flower, and the instructions that came on the packet.

5. With these three items you will want to make a small hole in the corner, careful not to ruin the name or instructions. Use a small hole punch works best.

6. Slide these onto a small ribbon. This works well when you have had ribbon imprinted with the date of the baby shower and the mother's name. Purchasing ribbon of this type can be found at many internet sites and at your local craft stores.

7. Or you can also slide them onto one of the drawstrings that are on the sachet bags.

8. If the drawstrings have a knot in them, undo one sachet drawstring knot and slide on the three items. Then simply retie the knot.

9. Now that you have attached the name, picture, and instructions for the flower either onto the sachet bag drawstrings or onto a ribbon, pull the drawstrings tight, so no seed can fall out.

10. If using ribbon, tie onto the two drawstrings.

That is it, your finished! You have a very beautiful and cute party favor that is very inexpensive and takes practically no time at all. These can be personalized by the colors you choose and the materials that are used. Giving all your party goers a little something to remember the occasion with.

The Sweet Scent Of A Baby Shower Candle Favor

Most people love candles, even if they do not burn them, they love to look at them. Making a baby shower favor of a candle is usually enjoyed by all recipients.

Baby shower candle favor are little more difficult to make, so make sure you have all the supplies you will need. You do not want to be starting and stopping, candles can dry quickly and this could cause a problem if you are not prepared. This is what you will need to make your baby shower candles.

1. Colored wax. You will want a very large brick of wax, so buying online is suggested from a bulk craft supplier. Typing in candle wax will retrieve many results of companies that sell large bricks of wax.

2. If you can not find colored wax and decide to purchase white instead, then also buy colored dies to add to the wax. Pick colors that will match your baby shower. There will be instructions on the dye on how much to add to the wax to achieve the color you are looking for.

3. A spoon and ladle. A spoon for adding small amounts of melted wax and a ladle for larger amounts.

4. You will need a large container to melt the wax in. There are double boilers that are sold that are made specifically for melting wax and being able to pour the wax. Even if you do not use a double boiler, you will need some other large container, like a pot that you do not mind getting wax all over, to melt and pour the wax from.

5. Choose a scent for your baby shower candle favors as well. There will be instructions on these as well as to how many drops to add to a match of melted wax. Pick a scent that will go along with your baby shower theme.

6. Pick a container to hold your candle in. Based on how much wax you purchased and how large you want to make the candles. The best containers will be glass of course, anything else may actually melt from the heat of the wax.

7. You will also need wicks for your candles. These come in different sized packages and will come with a small metal disk on the bottom that holds the wick and will also sit in the bottom of the candle container. Depending on how deep your candles are, make sure to get wicks that are long enough so the wick does not get covered over by the wax.

8. Pre-printed ribbon with the date and your name or your babies name. You will use these to tie around the candles container.

Now that you have all your supplies gathered, here are the instructions for making the baby shower candle favor.

1. Begin melting the wax. Depending on how much wax you are melting will determine how long it will take for the wax to melt. You will need to continue adding wax as you use it for your candles, so have chunks of wax available to add as need be.

2. If you already have colored wax, then begin adding the scent as the directions indicate.

3. If you are using white wax, then melt the wax down and then begin adding the colorant to the wax until you have achieved the color you want.

4. Once the colorant is added, now add the scent to the wax.

5. You will need to spoon a few drops into the bottom of your containers and then add your wick. Make sure the wax is dry once your wick is added. Do this to all your containers and have your wicks in place.

6. Now begin adding the melted wax with the ladle, if the container is too large to lift. Pour the melted wax in slowly, it will be very hot and you will need gloves or oven mitts to protect yourself. Pour the wax with one hand and hold the wick upright with the other.

7. Allow your candles to dry and then trim the wicks if they are long and sticking up too far above the rim of the container.

8. Tie your pre-printed ribbon around the top of the container, around the edge. Do this to all your candles. You're done with your baby shower candle favor.

Have fun!
