Mom's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Ingredients for Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Gather these ingredients together
5 to 6 pounds of chicken pieces
6 cups water
½ cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
dash pepper
1 bay leaf
One 1 pound can of creamed corn
1 ½ cups uncooked noodles
How to Prepare Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Instructions for making Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
In a large soup pot, combine chicken, water, onion, salt, pepper and bay leaf.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered about 2 hours or until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken from broth; cool and remove meat from bones. Cut chicken into bite size pieces and set aside.
Discard bay leaf.
Bring broth to a boil.
Add corn and noodles.
Simmer covered about 5 minutes or until noodles are barely done. (check the package directions for the noodles you are using.)
Add chicken and heat through, about 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper
Makes 8 servings.
