- Hi I just want to thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe. I tried this on saturday and I did not have any body odor. I have never had success with store bought products and I am truly happy i found this. I used the recipe without an essential oil and it works. [side note- BO is especially bad when I haven't shaved, and no joke- I have no BO!...& I haven't shaved :~] SO thank you for making this available and Thank you to my local store for suggesting this idea! It works!!

- I use Mama Nature's proskin athlete which contains fractionated coconut oil which is liquid at room temperature. I use it for underarms etc. and even after sweating all day I don't have BO.

- getting the general sense of how to make by visiting a few how to sites, I quickly scrapped one together using what I had; some sweet almond oil I purchased on impulse and barely used, tapioca starch, baking soda, some natural baby powder which had a nice scent, and a few drops of lavender. Poured some oil, did the starch and baking soda 50/50, few drops of lavender, few puffs of baby powder - smells sooooooo nice, nice soft scent. Kept adding by the spoonful (starch and baking soda) til it went creamy. Applied nicely. Now just have to see if it works. Many thanks! I've bought an INSANE amount of not-so-nice smelling natural deodorants that never worked and finally feel EXCITED about this one - yay! : )

- This is interesting. I always use deodorant and try to avoid antiperspirant as it stops the sweat from coming out through your skin pore..that's why the toxin that 'stayed behind' will finally lead to things like breast cancer. I tried this aluminum free 'once a week 'deodorant. It's kind of a 'wet tissue paper' that you use under the armpit. You apply it only once and will last for a week. It really works! Your home made recipe sounds interesting and I must give it a try.

- I'm trying to figure out how it works on your skin. If the coconut oil melts at 76 degrees, wouldn't putting it on your body just make a mess? Or does the oil just absorb, leaving behind the stuff that actually deodorizes? So it's the delivery mechanism to make it easier to get the dry stuff on? Could you just use a big powder puff with the dry ingredients? Man, I'm full of questions today. :-)

- Susan, the coconut oil does melt at 76 degrees, but when mixed with dry ingredients, it just magically blends into the skin and doesn't free greasy at all. I have heard of people using just the dry stuff with good results too. I would think the powders would be more prone to discoloring your clothes though, especially darker colors. It's probably just a matter of personal taste. Let me know how you like it if you decide to give the recipe a try!

- I use a lotion that contains fractionated coconut oil which means it is liquid at room temperature. Mama nature's proskin athlete is a great natural deodorant for me. It is great for underarms and crotch area and I can apply it in the morning, be sweating all day - at gym etc. and still not have any BO.

- I'll have to try this easy natural deodorant recipe. I used to use those deodorant crystals until I found out they are full of aluminum. That kind of defeats the purpose. I have been using a natural brand that works well but unfortunately,it's been discontinued. *Squidangel Blessings.*

- Brilliant - anything to reduce the burden of cosmetics toxicity on those who wear them and those who have the misfortune to inhale them. We don't have petrochemical-based cosmetics in our house.

- I'm allergic to most commercial deodorants. I usually buy mine from a company that makes chemical free soaps and other products but I think I'll have a go at your recipe.

- I already use coconut oil as an alternative to chemical filled lotions, so this will be another great use for it. Thanks for the info! :) Liked, favorited & lensrolled...
