Homemade Granola Recipe
I like mine in a bowl with milk but one of my sons eats his dry with a glass of milk on the side. Mix it into yogurt or sprinkle it on ice cream. It's a good healthful snack to send in the lunch box to school or work.
The Ingredient List for Homemade Granola
Make your Granola even more healthful with organic ingredients
4 cups oats
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup water
1 cup dried sweetened cranberries or other dried fruit such as golden raisins or cherries.
Instructions for Homemade Granola
Delicious and nutritious granola!
1 Heat the oven to 300 degrees F.
2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the oats, wheat germ, nuts, coconut, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt.
3. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the oil, honey and water.
4. Toss until well combined.
5. Spread the mixture evenly on a cookie sheet.
6. Bake for 40 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring every 10 minutes to keep it from sticking.
7. Let it cool and stir in the fruit.
8. Store in an airtight container.
9. Makes about 7 cups.

- Hi Michigan Mom! I use coconut oil sometimes too. It depends on what I have on hand. Step #7 above says to let it cool and stir in the fruit. I think it's about time to make some more granola!

Although you don't mention it in your recipe, I assume you add the dried fruit once the mixture has finished cooking and is cool. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us!
