    I love making ice-cream. I find it hard to choose a favorite as I love so many, but the last one I made was banana as we had some bananas that had gone over (I don't like to eat them too soft) and my hubby decided that that was his new favorite!

    My favorite flavor is vanilla - preferably vanilla bean - and I agree that fresh, home-made is best! My mother used to have us help her make ice cream for family picnics and she did a killer peach recipe we all still remember. I don't even own an ice cream maker so my kids have missed out. Might have to change that... ;)

    There are a lot of available machines in the market to create ice creams but the Soft Ice Cream Maker is the most popular and the most in demand.

    I can attest that the ice cream ball works great....kids had so much fun making ice cream at our cabin last summer! There is nothing better than homemade vanilla ice cream.     My favorite is butter pecan and pistachio. I haven't tried making them at home though, only fruit based ones such as strawberry ice cream and blueberry ice cream, on our ice cream maker.

    I have great memories of our family making homemade ice cream when I was growing up. This really makes me want to buy a ice cream maker and go for it! Angel Blessed and added to my Squid Angel Mouse Tracks lens

    My favorite flavor for homemade icecream is fresh peach. I have been looking for a good base recipe so i am glad to find one here.

    As a kid growing up in the UK we used to buy icecream from a local cafe. It was homemade and the most delicious icecream i've Ever had. It was based on goats milk. Any way your recipe sounds yummy, 5* well done.

    What a great lense and how fun it is to make homemade ice cream. My grandmother and I use to make it when I visited her during my summer vacation. Now I'm ready for some ice cream!

    As a reward I let my students make ice cream in a bag. We used the old shake method. It turned out really good.

    I love ice cream, but so often the bought kind just isn't as good as you like. Recently (before my move back to the UK) I discovered Bluebell Homemade Ice Cream (in Target stores and more) and it's wonderful. The strawberries are so freshly frozen, the nuts are fresh and crunchy, the ice cream is smooth and creamy yet icy cold in your mouth, just perfect. Their Buttered Pecan is to fdie for, as is their Moolenium Crunch or Neapolitan. If you can buy it locally I really recommend it. Meantime, great yummy lens, 5***** well deserved.

    I love vanilla and use the Cuisinart ice cream maker. It's really easy, especially compared to the old hand-crank ones we used when I was a kid too. You had to crank, or you didn't get any.

    I can remember using the old crank model as a kid to make homemade ice cream! Lots of work, but very much worth it!

    We used to make homemade ice cream often but haven't for a long time...our kids are coming to our lake in a couple of weeks and I think this will be the perfect time to dig out that old ice cream maker. Thanks for the idea!!

    I've never made my own ice cream, but I've had homemade in restaurants. You can definitely tell the difference. Nice work, Squid Angel blessed!

    I have my mom's ice cream maker but we have never made any. You have inspired me to "dig" it out and try some this summer. As a child we would make it for my grandfather's birthday every year! Great ideas!
