Homemade Solar Cell

It's not hard to make a homemade solar cell!

A while back I was pricing out installing solar panels on my house, and it was adding up to more than $20,000. It'd take years for me to make that up with savings on my electric bill. Not worth it.

Then after a bit of searching I found a DIY home solar power instruction manual. I'm no electrician. I'm not handy in any way. I can't even fix a leaky faucet, let alone a homemade solar cell. But I got them working, and it cost a fraction of the ones I was pricing out.

There is literally NO reason to buy solar cells when you can make a homemade solar panel yourself!

This is the DIY solar heating panel instructions I followed. Very easy to follow, and certainly worked for me.

My Experience with this manual

As I said, I'm a complete dunce when it comes to handy work. I once tried to shut off my toilet and wound up with three inches of water on my bathroom floor. I can laugh about it now.

Anyway, I thought it was hopeless to attempt to build solar panels myself. But I looked into it anyway and came across this guide. Call it an instruction manual. I'm not usually one to promote products online, but I really had to share this because it just plain worked. I've got my house running on about 75% solar power now. I can't even begin to guess how much I've saved on electric bills.

I confess, it took a little while to get the hang of it. I had to go through the first part of the manual a few times to get it right. But once I did, it was about a week before I had a full set of solar panels running. Totally unbelievable.

Anyway, that's my experience. There's another program by the same people about a DIY wind turbine, but I haven't tried it yet. That's next!

I'm not handy. I need all the help I can get when it comes to DIY projects. Occasionally I find some.
