Natural, easy body care recipes save money and your skin

Avoid the harsh chemicals, the artificial fragrances, and the dyes found in store-bought hair and body care products.  Make your own at home with some basic ingredients and a little creativity.  You can customize the scent and action of your body wash and shampoo by adding essential oils and extracts.  You can make your hand soap and body wash antibacterial simply by add a little tea tree oil.

On this lens, you'll find articles on homemade body wash, shampoo, conditioner, fruit facial masques, hair spray, and styling gel.  These are all made with natural ingredients, most of which you can find in your home or buy inexpensively at the grocery store.  There are separate recipes for dry and oily hair and skin.  Treat yourself and discover the great skin and hair that you get when you use nature.

Natural Beauty Products with Seaweed Extract

Bring the beneftits of the sea to your body!

Adding a teaspoon or two of seaweed extract to your homemade body care recipes is a great way to get fantastic benefits. Many extracts smell faintly or not at all so you don't have to worry about walking around smelling "fishy".

Seaweed extract contains iodine, selenium and other essential trace minerals and proteins. It is a strong anti-oxidant that removes free radicals and reduces cellular damage when added to soaps and body washes. In shampoos and conditioners, seaweed extract promotes healthy hair, stimulates the hair shaft, and can reduce dandruff by improving the condition of your scalp.

As a bonus, adding it to your food has been shown to reduce the instance of cervical cancer. Click over to my lens on the many uses of seaweed extract for more information. You can find dozens of dietary supplements online or in health food stores.
