Wind Generated Energy is One Of The Oldest Sources Of Energy.

The power of the wind was one of major source of energy from the early centuries. Many of us might have seen these old images of little star shaped structures standing on a huge stone column. This was what our ancestors used to grind their grain in order to produce food.

These people were ingenious we could say. They paved the way for the future of their time. Showing what could be done with a little will. Today we have the capacity to create wind turbines on an industrial level and also in our own backyards.

These wind turbines have the capacity to generate electricity for just about anything. From your home appliances to manufacturing industries and even major cities.

Do you doubt the power of the wind?

From my previous experiences I would advise you otherwise. I have survived at least four hurricanes and I can tell you. The wind can grab anything and toss it where ever it chooses. It can floor an average wooden house in under one hour. It can literally pick you up off your feet. Such is the force I am talking about.

How refereshing the wind can be :)

The wind however is not always that vicious on the contrary it can be quite calm and peaceful. Filing your lungs and giving that little push that you need to keep going on a hot day.

The wind has a voice and a heart. I like to sit on my veranda from time to time and just relax. It can also be good when ever I go down to the beach just to put my mind at ease. But where ever you enjoy your share of the wind. There is no doubt that it is one of the most unseen yet beautiful aspects of nature.

Hold a second please vote for your favourite energy source!

Though we will be using a combination of all of them I want to know what you think.

The wind is marvelous

But do you know what else the wind can do. Look at the diversity of the wind. It could today send your house flying and tomorrow it hugs you and give you a soothing massage.

Imagine so much energy flowing through the atmosphere we cannot see it directly but we can see what it does. We can feel its effects.

If that is the case we can also catch it and make it work for us. With all the problems of high utility bills and the wars for oil. We can make a difference. We do not have to spend all that money month after month. I think it would be a good idea to make use of the wind by using it as a source of power.

How it works

How a wind turbine works these days as well as how it is used is a little different from the early days. Today the wind is used to turn the blades of a turbine which is connected to an electric motor (can be made at home). The spinning wind turbine induces a current in the motor which can then be stored in huge batteries that can be used to power your home, a TV, a computer and just about anything you want.

Benefits of using homemade wind power

A homemade wind generator is much easier to build than you think. I have seen a man who built his using a pvc pipe for blades that is how simple it can get.

With your own wind power generator:

--#1 It is great fun putting the equipment in place to use homemade wind power.

--you can stop paying bills

--use any amount of appliances you wish and not have to worry about running up the bill

--reduce your dependence on fossil fuels

--help reduce the effect of fossil fuels on global warming

--help lower gas prices

--your world will be healthier cleaner and more eco friendly all because you are generating your own power.

One of the big cons however is that they are sometimes noisy. However with a few adjustments you can have it running smoothly.

The great thing is that you do not have to buy a $2500 wind generator. You can build a cheaper more effective one at home for under $100.

Below is a link to a very useful guide which gives great support on how you can use the wind to generate power for your home.

we've evolved to use forms of energy that are less efficient, weird. Keep up the good work and if you're interested in reading about my writing, check out my home wind power blog.

I remember writing a post a while back (I've got a home improvements blog) on a windmill you could get for your backyard to help power your home. It's a bit more obvious than solar panels, but if there aren't any zoning restrictions, that could be a fun way to save on energy costs. :)
