The Homemade Jamz Blues Band

An amazing blues band consisting of three siblings; Ryan Perry, age 16, playing guitar, Kyle Perry, age 14, playing electric bass, and Taya, age 9, playing drums.

They Got Their Start Early

Their father, Renaud Perry, was a police officer and noticed musical ability in Ryan at a young age. Actually, Renaud Perry discovered his young son's interest by chance after he opened the front door of his home and heard a racket blaring from the living room. He turned the corner, expecting to tell his son Ryan to turn down the television. Instead, he saw the 8-year-old with an electric guitar in his lap, playing chords along with a TV commercial.

Turns out Ryan had been dragging his father's Fender Stratocaster from a closet and playing along with TV jingles while Dad worked. "I had no idea he had any interest in any instrument," Renaud said later.

Within a month, Ryan won an amateur talent contest at the U.S. military base in Germany, where Renaud completed his time in the US Army.

This kid has talent!

After Ryan decided it was Blues that he wanted to learn, father Renaud encouraged a local Blues musician named Jabbo to teach Ryan. They laugh about it today, but Jabbo was resistant to teaching a young kid, until Renaud pulled up in his police car and uniform to "ask" for instructions.

After Jabbo and Ryan had their first jam session on a porch, Jabbo said "You know, this kid: I want to teach him everything I know."

Since then, the rest of the siblings learned to play the instruments of the band, becoming experts in their own right. The band has gone on to win numerous awards and contests across the country.

And here we are today!
