Home Made Energy Review - What It Comes With

To write this Home Made Energy Review, I downloaded the Home Made Energy guide with no problems. Included in the download are:
--Seven Intro Videos
--Seven "How To" Videos
--Sizing Worksheets
--The Guide

Home Made Energy Review - Seven Intro Videos

In writing our Home Made Energy Review, we found that these seven introduction videos had great information. Ben and Bill, who are the makers of the Home Made Energy guide, explain the types of photovaltaic systems you can have for your RV or Home. For example, "off grid" would be for an RV or hunting cabin in the mountains and "on grid" would be a supplement to electricity you are getting from the power company. They teach you some electrical fundamentals like watts=volts x amps. They emphasize the importance of conserving power by showing how much it costs to have lights on in your house. A 100 watt light bulb left on for 10 hours = 1 kilowatt hour. You can look at your electric bill and find out how much 1 kiowatt hr is. It is about 11.83 cents to leave one light on for 10 hours. I learned that even appliances that are off and plugged in can cause load leakage and those costs add up. These intro videos also include a detailed list of tools you will need to build your solar panels. Most of them you probably already own. They also talk about the advantages and disadvantages of solar panels. To buy the guide click here Home Made Energy

Home Made Energy Review - "How To" Videos

Home Made Energy Review - In the "how to" videos, you watch as Bill makes a solar panel. You see every single step on camera. In fact, you even see him make a mistake or two when he does the math for laying out the cells and also in soldering the cells together. You watch him fix the mistakes as well. I appreciated that! Knowing that I can fix a mistake without having to throw the whole project away will save me a lot of time and money. These "how to" videos alone were enough to give me the knowledge and confidence I need to easily build my own solar panel.

Home Made Energy Review - Sizing Worksheets

These worksheets are simple! All you have to do is take your average daily load or the watt hour per day you use in electricity, and put that number in designated place on the worksheet. You can get that watt hour per day use from your electric bill. It is automatically calculated and you will know all the components you need to build your own solar energy system. You can find out how solar power works by clicking on this link.

Home Made Energy Review - The Guide

This guide is simply a supplement to the videos. If all I got when I downloaded the Home Made Energy guide, was this 55 page guide, I would be lost. I could not build a solar panel with this guide alone. It is a reference. It also has instructions and diagrams to build a wind turbine. I was confused on the directions and diagrams on how the hub fits on the tower and tailpiece. I just couldn't figure it out from the book. With a few calls to support, I may be able to get enough information to build a wind turbine.

Home Made Energy Review - Conclusion

At the conclusion of this Home Made Energy Review, I just want to say that this is definitely worth the money for building a solar panel. Anyone, without question, will be able to build a solar panel using these videos. However, I don't think it is a good guide for building a wind turbine.

I learned more about solar energy and energy systems from these videos than any other resource. These videos were so informative, that I wouldn't be surprised if my IQ went up a couple points. I am definitely more conscientious about saving energy. Buying this guide was a great investment! If you just don't want to buy a guide and see some step by step instructions, then go to How To Make A Solar Panel Step By Step. To buy this guide go to Home Made Energy
