Free dog food recipes
I created this lens to share some free dog food recipes with you all. I also have a blog at http://www.homemadehealthypetfood.com that has more homemade dog food recipes, and also has updates on the commercial dog food recall.
The Dangers of Commercial Dog Food
There are additional dangers in commercial dog food that people are not aware of. Many companies use the carcasses of euthanized dogs as ingredients in dog food. The chemicals used to euthanize those dogs are ingested by our pets, and it causes early onsets of chronic diseases.
Further, in the past month, commercial dog food has been found to be contaminated by acetaminophen and salmonella.
This is just an introduction to the dangers in commercial dog food. The ONLY SAFE ALTERNATIVE is to cook homemade dog food for your dogs. Otherwise, you could be killing your dogs every time you feed them. See my website for more information.
Further, another article I found states that the FDA is disputing the findings of acetaminophen found in some batches of dog food, but it cannot even confirm that it has tested the same batches!! Between the government and the pet food agencies, our pets are at severe risk.
MInt Burger
* 5 cups of uncooked rice
* 10 cups of water
* 2 pounds low fat hamburger
* 5 tbs dried mint
Directions:
Bring rice to a boil. Add hamburger and mint. Bring back to boil. Mix well. Reduce heat to low. Cook until all water is absorbed.
Basic Building Blocks for Homemade Dog Food
From 50% to 70% of the ingredients should be meat, such as beef or chicken. Be sure to take all the bones out first, as dogs can choke on bones, especially soft chicken bones.
The remainder of the meal should be made up of carbohydrates and vegetables. Good carbohydrates are potatoes or rice. Do not use pasta or any other carbohydrates made from corn, wheat or soy, since they are not good for dogs.
Good vegetables to use are: carrots, peas, green beans, spinach, beans, cabbage, yams, sweet potatoes, etc.
Also, ask your vet as to what vitamins and minerals should be added to your dog's meal.
The amount you should feed your dog varies, and depends upon the size, breed, age and activity level of your dog. The website http://www.homemadehealthypetfood.com has more information on homemade dog food, and has book recommendations as to serving sizes and other things to take into account when cooking for your dog.

Hi friends,
I'm new here, and I have a little question.
I found this website: I'm a link! Click me
And I've got the ebook. Great one! I have a question, is it recommended to feed my 2yo dog ONLY homemade dog food?
I think this is the most natural food the dogs can and need to eat.
Do you think am I right? It's highly recommended to look at this research about "fake" dog food.
