Make a Mouthwash to Freshen That Stinky Breath

Ingredients

2 ounces of Water
1/4 Teaspoon of baking soda
1 drop of Pure Peppermint Oil
1 drop of Tea Tree oil.

Directions

We'll start with the most basic of mouthwash ingredients, baking soda. Mix all ingreients together. The essential oils will give that fresh breath taste.

2 1/2 cups distilled or mineral water
1 tsp fresh mint leaves
1 tsp rosemary leaves
1 tsp anise seeds

Directions

Boil the water, add herbs and seeds, infuse for 20 minutes. Cool, strain and use as a gargle/mouthwash. If you wish to make up a larger quantity, double or triple the recipe then add 1 tsp of tincture of myrrh as a natural preservative.

4 teaspoons liquid glycerine
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
10-15 drops Spearmint essential oil

Directions

Boil water and vodka, add glycerine and aloe vera gel. Remove from the heat, let cool slightly. Add spearmint oil, shake well. Pour into bottle, cap tightly.

A cup of brandy permeated with myrrh powder, thyme and sage.
A cup of purified water
Lemon juice (1 table spoon)

Directions

Start with the infusion. Take dried sage, myrrh powder and thyme and combine it with a cup of brandy, cover it tightly and let it remain for a period of 2 weeks.

After the infusion, strain, put in the water and shake until it blends. After that, take 2 tablespoons of the mixture and put it in a glass and add a few drops of lemon to it. Then put it in your mouth, gargle and spit out.

This recipe makes a rather minty mouthwash but it is not as sweet or strong as commercially available mouthwashes.

1/8 teaspoon of mild neutral soap powder
½ teaspoon of gum Arabic
½ teaspoon of glycerin
One tablespoon of calcium carbonate
A few drops of peppermint oil
1/8 cup of mineral water

Directions:

Mix all ingredients well in mineral water. Heat and stir for about 5-10 minutes and after this leave for few minutes to cool. All ingredients in this mouthwash are very effective for getting healthy gum and fresh breathe.

1 drop thyme essential oil
1 drop sage essential oil
1 glass warm water

Directions:

Combine the brandy or vodka with the thyme and sage essential oils and add to a glass of warm water. Gargle 2-3 times daily.
This mouthwash will help to relieve sore-throat pain due to the properties of the thyme and sage.

As an alternative, to help support healing and prevent infection after a tooth extraction, add 1 tsp. of brandy or vodka and lemon essential oils to a glass of warm water 2-3 times each day; rinse carefully with the mixture.

Mix together all above ingredients and use as a mouthwash. This mouthwash combines a few key ingredients from other mouthwash recipes giving a strong breath-freshening mouthwash.

1 cup distilled water (or Sage herbal tea)
1 teaspoon raw honey
Peppermint essential oil 2 drops
Spearmint essential oil 2 drops
Anise essential oil 1 drop
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)

Directions

Measure out honey into measuring cup. Add the essential oils, not exceeding 6 drops total. Mix well with the honey. Add a small amount of warm distilled water or herbal tea of sage to the honey until completely dissolved. Add the remaining amount of water. Bottle and label. Shake well before each use and swish for 30 to 60 seconds.

Shake well and use as any other mouthwash.

This recipe not only freshens the breath, but has antiseptic properties for good oral hygiene. One application keeps mouth fresh for hours.

Pour the brandy into a bottle and add the oils one at a time. Ensure the oils have dissolved by shaking the bottle vigorously and store.

When using the mouthwash add 2 or 3 teaspoons of the mouthwash to a half glass of warm water.

Another great pain relief mouthwash. Combine all ingredients and use as you would any other mouthwash.

1/4 cup dried, or 1 cup fresh strawberry leaves
1 cup of boiling water
2 tsp of fresh lemon juice

Directions

Place the strawberry leaves in a ceramic bowl and pour the boiling water over them. Let sit until completely cool. Strain off the liquid and discard the leaves. Add the lemon juice and stir well. Store this mouthwash in the refrigerator. The strawberry leaves contain properties that make them an effective antibacterial agent.

This is another mouthwash that can be useful for its pain relieving properties. Mix all ingredients in a glass and then swish around in your mouth before spitting it out.
