Ranked #18,037 in Food & Cooking, #318,843 overall
Protein Bar
I have purchased many different protein bars and I can tell you that they are very expensive. This bar can be made for under a dollar.
The Recipe
Adjust for how many you want. This makes about 1 bar.
Ingredients:
2 spoonfulls peanut butter
1/2 cup oats
1 tablespoon milk
1 scoop whey protein powder
1/2 tablespoon honey
(optional) handful of chocolate chips
(optional) handful of almonds or cashews
Directions:
Add peanut butter, milk and honey to microwave safe bowl. Microwave for about 30 seconds. Mix in oats, protein powder, chocolate chips, and extras.
Next, there are two options
1. (preferred if you plan to eat soon) Wrap in bar shape in aluminum foil and freeze until ready to eat
2. Place in 325 degree preheated oven until it begins to brown or until it becomes firm. Store in refridgerator
Enjoy! One serving of this bar includes over 30 grams of protein with a moderate amount of fat, sugar, and carbs to help refuel your body.
