Isn't it a nusiance? It may seem that eczema can be 'flair up' at any time, whether its in the car, in a restaurant, at work or at home. Whats important however, is knowing what sets it off, and how you can prevent it!
Here are 5 simple tips that you can use to take control:
#1 - Find Out Which Foods Cause Eczema To Flair Up
Knowing which foods cause eczema to set off can allow you to adjust your diet accordingly.
Many people use trial and error to find out which food does this, but the most common foods are:Eggs
Milk
Peanuts
Seafood
Wheat and Soya
There are also Common additives that cause eczema, which include:
Tartrazine
Sodium Benzoate
Sodium Glutamate
Sodium Metabisulphite
Strangely, eczema affects people differently, and you may want to keep a food diary to keep track.
#2 - Use Moisturisers To Reduce Eczema
Using a moisturiser targeted at reducing eczema is a simple yet effective step.
There are a number of different products on the market today which reduce eczema, many of which work well, many not so well. One of the most crucial steps to reducing eczema is making sure the affected skin is well moisturised, as if it becomes too dry it can flair up much quicker.Another good reason to use these is that using soap can remove the natural oils in your skin, making it more sensitive to irritants.
Personally, I have always used Aveeno eczema products and never had any problems with them. Furthermore, my eczema hasn't come up in at least 3 years now.

#3 - Get Rid Of Dust Mites!
How dust mites affect eczema, and how to get rid of them.
Many people are allergic to dust mites, so its important to understand how they affect people with eczema and how to reduce them (unfortunately, its impossible to get rid of all of them).Bear in mind, if you have mild eczema which can be controlled using treatments (such as the aveeno eczema products mentioned above), then this may not be of much benefit:
1. Remove carpets from the bedroom.
2. Avoid soft furnishing in the bedroom.
3. Use feather rather than synthetic pillows.
4. Wet-dust the bedroom furniture every 1-2 weeks.
5. Vacuum or clean the bedroom floor regularly.
6. Vacuum the mattress once a week.
7. Regularly ventilate the bedroom (open the door and a window for a while on most days).
8. Try to keep humidity low.

#4 - Use Vitamin Supplements In Your Diet
Vitamin supplements can help significantly to reduce eczema.
The best vitamins you can take to help you reduce your eczema are evening primrose oil, fish oil and zinc. Just taking these occasionally (Typically once a day, however it varies by product) can help long term.Below are the 3 products I purchase regularly, and strongly recommend, all by 'Nature Made' (These are especially important if you, like myself, aren't able to get enough of these in your normal diet).

#5 - Stress plays its part in eczema flairing up.
Having stress can lead to a flair up of eczema. Luckily it can be easily solved.
Many people believe that stress can set eczema off, however it is because many people 'habit scratch' when they are stressed that eczema occurs. There are many different exercises you will find on the internet to help you to reduce stress, however if the stress is work-related, then the best thing that you can do is take a short break, have a coffee/tea, then get back to it 10 minutes later.
