Home remedies for hemroids: Three essential tips to sooth your bottom!

If you are like me and suffer from the pain and itching of hemroids and are looking for home remedies for hemroids,
then keep reading to learn some easy ways that have helped me alleviate the symptoms of hemroids and can help you in your fight with hemroids.

Over the years I have tried any and every solution, product, and pill that I could put my hands to help me with my hemroids, all with different levels of successes.

Here I will discuss some do-it-yourself home remedies for hemroids that can help with inflammation, itching and pain.

These suggestions are not cure-all formulas, but they will help tremendously.

Alleviate itching and swelling: Sitz Bath

Home Remedies For Hemroids Tip #1

One of the most popular home remedies for hemroids is a sitz bath.

A sitz bath is a bath where you sit in warm water. Sitting in warm water allows blood to reach the inflamed area, to promote healing and help with any discomfort.

This is one of the easiest home remedies for hemroids relief.

All you need to do is to sit in a bath tub filled with warm water for about 10 minutes, 3-4 times a day.

You can add epsom salt or a bit of oatmeal powder to the bath for additional relief.

You can also purchase small sitz baths that fit over your toilet. You should be able to find these sitz baths at any pharmacy.

After the bath you can increase the chances of relief by sitting on an ice-pack wrapped in cloth, a hand towel works very well for this.

Alternating heat and cold to any part of the body always the blood to circulate faster resulting in soothing of the affected area.

Proper Physical Care

Home Remedies For Hemroids Tip #2

It is very important to keep your sensitive area properly cared for. A good practice to get into is to use soap and water to clean the area after wiping with toilet paper.

I like to use a natural soap with no added chemicals or fragrances.
Use a wash cloth and clean the area every time after you "go number 2" as my little ones say.

Also, when choosing toilet paper it is completely worth it, even in these tough economic times to buy a soft toilet paper.
Cheaper toilet tissues can be hard and will likely upset a protruding hemroid particularly if you have to wipe multiple times.

If using soap and water every time you go is impractical, try patting the area with tucks pads to help clean and soothe the area. There are many different brands of medicated pads available for purchase.

Avoid Tight Underwear

Home Remedies For Hemroids Tip #3

Laugh if you want to, but make sure you take this tip seriously!

Overly tight underwear or clothing can be irritating to the area and, believe it or not, contributes to low muscle tone. Low muscle tone is an underlying issue that leads to the creation of hemroids.

Eliminating tight clothing and allowing your rear area to "breathe" will help overall comfort tremendously.

Also, try to avoid synthetic fabric when purchasing underwear.

I am not suggesting for you to go out and buy expensive silk underwear, good old 100% cotton underwear works best because it allows the area to "breathe" and eliminates the possibility of sensitivity to synthetic materials that can make hemroid irritation worse.
