Tea bags - yup the tea bag can help you to control your cold sore, you can either put a cold used tea bag on the sore for a few minutes every hour or so OR you can get a tea bag that has had hot water on it and when it has cooled down a bit and is warm not mad hot you can press this on the sore for about half an hour or so and that can help too.

Rub some witch hazel on the sore for pain relief, or you could try putting your moist finger in some salt and then pressing that onto the infected area, remember not to put you finger back in the salt though as cold sores are highly contagious.
