Homeschooling doesn't have to be expensive. Here is a list of resources for 2nd grade homeschool that are low cost or free. I've tried to provide a variety of activities and resources to choose from. The most important thing to remember about 2nd grade homeschool, is to keep it fun and to help your child to want to learn.
This page is meant to be a supplement to 2nd grade curriculum, not a replacement for a homeschool curriculum. Please keep in mind that children learn at different levels and some of the sources here are meant for multiple age groups. I highly recommend if you do not find what you are looking for, to look through the other grades especially the one lower or the one higher to see if they have a resource that you can use. You can find the other grades listed down below. Many of these resources could also be used by classroom teachers. They are not exclusive to homeschoolers and I welcome you to this page. :)

- This is a great lens, homeschooling could be complemented with an iPad, nothing can replace the social aspect of school what are your thoughts?

- An iPad would work well for many homeschooling areas. I do disagree about the social aspect of school, though. Many times, if a child doesn't fit in quite right, they are bullied. Children are often exposed to many things they really aren't ready to handle and more often than not they get in trouble if they try to "socialize". Homeschooling offers a lot of social outlets if you look for them and most homeschool moms that I know do. My boys are involved in drama, 4-H, gym class, children's choir and various church programs. My little guy proudly informed me last night that he has been on stage 14 times in the last year (he's only 9 years old). He is getting to be quite a natural at it. My little guy borders on being autistic. He would be in special ed (even though he's very smart) if he was in school and he would be bullied. But in homeschool, he is getting opportunities he would not in school. Besides being on stage, he also went through 4-H judging this summer and made it to state. I know a lot of people have the misconception that public school provides better socialization than homeschool, but from what all I've seen, that appears to be a myth. :)
