Homeschooling Kindergarten
The idea of homeschooling Kindergarten can be an overwhelming thought to someone who has never done it before. That's what older homeschool Moms are for! Sit back and enjoy the information in this lens and relax. You can do it!
Is Homeschooling Kindergarten hard?
Public school teachers might want you to think that it is...
Many parents don't realize how much they have been teaching their children already. They have taught them how to feed themselves, walk, talk, count, colors, getting along with others, along with a host of other skills that we just do and don't even think about.
Did you think about sending your child to talking school when it was time to teach them how to talk? No, you just worked with them a little at a time and before you knew it they were talking. Homeschooling is the same way. You just work with your child a little at a time and before you know it, they are learning things faster than you ever imagined.

What do I do all day when homeschooling Kindergarten?
You have brought them this far, just keep going....
Most people have a little bit of a routine to their day. They get up, eat breakfast, get dressed, brush their teeth and start on their projects for the day.
Your child is probably in this routine already. Homeschooling will just be one of the projects you work on during the day. The best way to homeschool, though, during the younger years is to weave it throughout your day.
When you taught your child to talk, you didn't set a time each day for talking lessons. You just helped him work on it throughout the day.
Reading should be the bulk of your homeschool time. Read to your child at least 30 minutes each day and you'll be surprised what he will learn and observe.
Every parent wants their child to learn to read and the best way to do that is to read to them. There are many great resources that you can use for teaching reading, but the bulk of your time in teaching reading will just be reading to him and playing around with letters, both on the page and around the house.
Play games - You will be amazed at how much your child can learn just by playing a few simple games.
Paper, paper everywhere.... Have paper and pencils readily and available everywhere around your house so that your child can draw and write letters whenever it comes up throughout the day.
Resource boxes - Collect hands on materials for Science, Math, History, and Reading and use those boxes on different days throughout the week.
