Our Homeschool Journey 2010/2011 Part 1
Ranked #7,423 in Education, #169,852 overall | Donates to First Book
Part One
In this series of 5, I will be chronicling our homeschooling year.
The fiscal school year runs August 1-July 31. We always start slow the 1st of August and work up until the day that the public school starts. At that time we try to go in to it full speed.
I won't be going into detail on such things as how many pages we did in each text book etc, but giving a good idea of what we are accomplishing each week.
I hope you enjoy. :)

The state fair was here. We spent 9 hours at the state fair on Monday, with 4 hours of that walking around with the Headstart class. That was the most educational time as we watched them sheer a sheep, learned about milking a cow, went to the petting zoo etc.
On Wednesday we went back to the state fair for another 5 hours. Jasmine stopped at a lot of the booths as we collected free stuff. Once home she said she didn't know how exhausting it was to actually pretend you were interested in learning about the products, or services these people were presenting. She did sit through an entire cooking demonstration, which included eating afterwards.

- I am planning to homeschool when we have children. I have the humanities fairly well-covered, and my boyfriend can easily guide our children through math and physics. I think that upper-level chemistry shall fall to him as well...

- We just started last week (Wednesday and Thursday). Not all of our books are in yet, so we improvised a bit. We did two days of math, two days of Chinese (Rosetta Stone), Some of a Language arts workbook, some reading, science, and geography. One of the days in science we made bread, and on another day we threw balls in the backyard; we were exploring different theories that evolutionists have.
