There are programs that allow you to learn Spanish right along side your child, if you'd like, on the same computer. You don't have to worry about pronunciation. The programs do the teaching. And at the same time your son or daughter could receive high school credit for homeschool Spanish, that is, if they are high school age.
If you took Spanish in high school, You don't want your child going through the same frustration that you did. Do you remember trying to learn big lists of vocabulary? Then when someone spoke to you in Spanish you couldn't come up with the words to form a complete sentence. You just stood there feeling stupid. You never learned how to make a sentence. There's got to be a better way.

What To Look For In A Homeschool Spanish Curriculum
What IsThe Right Spanish Program For My Child?
Consider these points before you decide on a home school Spanish Curriculum program. (These tips are especially important for older students):- Is the Spanish curriculum age appropriate? If possible, look at online demos or online free lessons.
- Is high school credit available? This is not required in all states.
- Does the course focus on building Spanish sentences and communicating rather than memorizing lists of words? Is there a focus on speaking in everyday situations to learn vocabulary rather than memorizing?
- Is there an interactive computer program with an instructor that requires the student to make responses? Does this instructor help with pronunciation and grammar as well as study tips?
- Can CDs or MP3s be used for review? This is especially important for times when the student cannot be on the computer.
- Are activities and games used for grammar and vocabulary review?
- Are quizzes and tests used to promote study and conclude each lesson?
Good luck finding the home school Spanish program that's right for your child.
