Your love is here but your heart is there?
Swiss by nature, American by marriage. As much as I love living here with my husband, the past 10 years have cut me away from my Swiss family whom I miss a lot as I feel very close to them.
When the feelings of being torn gets too strong I do many different things to overcome the pain - some weird, some simple, some desperate and some are also funny.
What do you do to overcome this gap?
Tip Number One
Create a blog! Reach out to others and let them reach you.
As an example: because I am a designer, I have my own design blog, called mStudiosTALK which is sometimes a challenge but otherwise really fun to run. Check it out!

I"m over 10 years here and at times it really, really is hard for me. Like today, for example. Posted July 06, 2008 |

Hey there, I really relate to what you are saying! I'm from New Zealand, marrying an American. I've lived here since Dec 07. How long have you been here? Where abouts in the states do you live? Check out my lens if you like, all about life over here, and what i left behind! It's www.squidoo.com/lonekiwiUSA. I've also just added some more, www.squidoo.com/menomonie (about the new town I live in), and www.squidoo.com/gamesforfree (since I have too much spare time on my hands right now!)
