Fun father daugther projects turned into a homebased business
Some might say that we are living the dream on a small homestead in the rural Missouri Ozarks, others might say that we are nuts. Be that as it may, this is what we do, live out a dream in the country, surrounded by the majestic, wild beauty of God's country known as the Ozark mountains. Aside from raising much of our own food as naturally as possible, my family and I like to do things together. At times, this involves a long walk on a summer evening. Other times, it means sitting down in fromt of a raw, unfinished gourd. I have found that it is a relaxing time with my children as we paint a birdhouse gourd, or learning to tie a new knot to be made into a decorative, yet functional paracord accessory. Gourds add beauty to your bird sanctuary, an inviting home for those feathered friends that everyone loves to watch. Paracord adds a touch of security to even mundane activities like hiking, or fishing, or camping. Paracord is well known for it's strength and versatility-a definate must have for any outdoor adventure. We make various things with paracord and there is sure to be something that will fit your style. We use nothing but the true, American made 550, seven strand cord, so there is nothing to fear, and despite what some might say, we do not strip the inner seven strands out. You get the full strength of 550 paracord in all its strength. So, we opened an Etsy store!

So, What Else Do You Have At Your Etsy Store?
One thing that I love to do is to draw. I have always had a love affair with newspaper cartoons. Thus, that is what I draw. The girls don't help much with this part, but they do give me ideas and inspiration. What I try to do is take the plight of the American Homesteader/farmer, with all of it's pitfalls and hardwork and weariness and try to add a dash of humor. Over the years, I have developed a set of characters, a mom and dad and two little girls along with the Department Of Homeland Security-or Angus the Border Collie pup and his mentor Boomer, also a Border Colllie. I have many drawings to share, not all in our store yet, I want to dole them out slowly, you see. But they are coming. They are priced reasonably and come printed on acid free cardstock in a 5x7 size, printed with acid free archival ink, ready for you to frame and hang on oyur wall. Not that I feel I am a professional or anything, but I will initial the back side and throw in a free bookmark with a silly homestead humor picture on it, maybe one of Angus the pup. 2 Girls And Their Dad-Cedar Cove Farm

What can you do with Paracord, anyway?
Why have some?
So you make things with paracord, big deal. What good is a bunch of cord anyway? Glad you asked, just to name a few uses of paracord (short for parachute cord designed for use in the US military) you can use it to tie things down (or up), replace shoe laces, pull a hiker off a ledge, snare an animal for food, take the 7 strands out for use in making a fish net, a ridge string for a tent or shelter, make a hammock (if you have plenty), the list is limited only by your imagination. But, just to be sure, watch this great video from Youtube on the benfits of paracord. After you've watched the video and you have decided to get some paracord, please visit our Etsy store, all our stuff is made with the 7 strand 550 (550lb. test), what better way to carry this all-purpose cord than in a fashinable, functional way, on your wrist or on your hip, the sky is the limit!
