John, of course Advantage does not cover claims that are not covered in the terms. They do not deny claims that are covered......is that clear?

    Dear Sharp,

Sorry about the late reply, haven't checked on this lens in a while. I do not know of any other warranty companies that operate as AHW does in your area, but John of Colorado said that Blue Ribbon Home Warranty does.
Eventually we will be expanding nationwide. You might consider contacting AHW to be put on a notification list when we reach you.

Hello John. Thanks for the info on Blue Ribbon Home warranty. I had not heard of them. Yes, our warranty spells out in the contract what we do and don't cover and the extent to which we will cover it, but that being said, the big difference is that we do not deny claim's based upon such convenient loopholes as the 'pre-existing condition' clause or the 'improperly installed', 'not maintained' or any other clause. If it was working and covered at the time of inspection, then the claim will be honored.
Does Blue Ribbon have any of the above clauses that allow denial of covered claims?

    Tanya,
Sorry you got burned. Keep in touch with Advantage Home Warranty as we expand nationwide. Our warranty was created because of the problems you mention.

You are not the only Home Warranty that requires an inspection. Blue Ribbon Home Warranty, Inc. in Colorado has been in business since 1984 and requires an inspection. Even with an inspection, sometimes claims will be denied. Most warranty Companies I've researched cover normal wear and tear failure and exclude light fixtures and plumbing fixtures (like sinks, shower pan, toilets..bowls & tanks, lids, knobs etc.) Am I to understand Advantage has never and will never deny a claim? Even with all the efforts we make to document the condition of a home, a customer will call and file a claim ...."I just moved in and the main sewer was backing up so I called ........ and they charged me $800 to clear the main sewer. Please pay them!" The answer is that it isn't a covered claim. So if one of your customers just calls anyone they want to repair an item that may or may not be covered by the contract and then asks you to cover it, you do? I don't think so! jfo

Hi, I live in the Phoenix, AZ area which you do not service or I would jump at the chance of getting your warranty. Do you know of any in this area that operate as you do? I appreciate any help you give!!!

American Home Shield is the worst warranty provider, they have more excuses than there are clauses in our contract. Most recently they used the "improperly installed" loophole to avoid fixing a legitimate problem. I paid my service fee as required only to be told that the technician reported back that the garage door opener, which we requested service on, was improperly installed and therefore not covered by our warranty. I have videotape footage of the opener apparatus and the alleged swinging that the technician reported is no where to be seen on the video. I see a Warranty company switch in the very near future.

Hello Frank, and thanks: I understand how you feel about 'selling' our warranty.

That doesn't change the fact that there are two completely different models at operation here. No other Home Warranty company requires documentation that eliminates the'pre-existing conditions' clause.
I am an Advantage Inspection associate and yes, I am promoting our products and am invested in the success of this company because I belive in them. But I don't get paid for what I am doing here.

In fact, when I began to do my own research, I started to become angry at the underhanded methods and the harm being done to the general public. It began to smell like a scam. And I take it personally.

As to my monetary reward, when the public realizes the difference between our product and all the others, they will demand a 'No Denied Claims' warranty. and that requires our inspection that underwrites that warranty. That's how I get paid, when I do an inspection.

    Questions ?

I was liking your post, all the way up to the point where you turned it around and started selling something. It destroyed your message. It seems more like "oh, he just has something he wants to sell." Do you get a referral or kickback from them?
