Are You Drinking Contaminated Water?

Every day me and my family would drink bottled water thinking we were making the healthy choice.

One day I read an article about the quality of bottled water being actually lower than tap water. Needless to say, I was shocked.

I quickly took up a quest to research how I could make sure I had access to healthy water at all times. Sorry but tap water just has too many contaminants so that was not a choice.

Well, my research led me to water filter systems, home filtration systems, drinking water filters and on and on. It can be a little confusing if you are all new to it.

So, I compiled all of my research and created:

Understanding The Different Home Water Filter Systems

A Solution To Contaminated Drinking and Bathing Water

To ensure that family health is not compromised by one of the many disease carrying contaminants found in our drinking water, it is important to make use of some kind of water purification system. This article will provide useful information on Home Water Filter Systems and how you can ensure you and your family drink healthy safe water.

There are several types of water purifier, with variations in difficulty of installation, price and volume of water that can be purified at any one time. Whilst the dangers lurking unseen in drinking water leave us little choice but to use a filter to keep our family disease free, we do however have a choice when it comes to choosing types of water purifiers.

There are three main kinds of water purification units. These are:

A jug water purifier
Under sink water purifiers
A whole house water purification system

The volume of water produced by each of these water purification systems vary according to type, although all of them do the job for which they are designed very well - namely getting rid of impurities and producing clean and pure water.

Water Purification - Jug Water Purifier

The jug water purifiers are simply a self-contained unit using the following filtering method. A reservoir at the top of a 2 - 3 liter plastic jug contains a carbon filter. When the reservoir is filled with water, the filtered clean water accumulates in the bottom of the jug having passed through the filter for cleansing. The most economical of the options, the obvious downside to water jug purifiers is the limited amount of clean water produced at any one time.

Under Sink Water Purifiers

A carbon filter is attached to the feed that supplies your kitchen cold water faucet with this water purification system. This then allows filtered pure water from your kitchen sink at any time.

The mid-price option, the great thing about under sink water purifiers is the limitless supply of clean purified water from the kitchen faucet whenever you need it. As with each water purifier, the carbon filter will need changing periodically.

Whole House Water Systems

The whole house water purification system is the most comprehensive and therefore the most expensive type of unit.

The filter is installed at the water point-of-entry into your home, the main water line, which ensures that no matter where water runs in your house, it will be filtered, pure and clean drinking water.

With this system the filter has removed all the 'hard' chemicals before they enter the pipes of the house. Therefore appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers and water boilers all have a much longer lifespan as the softer water doesn't fur up the pipes with lime-scale and corrosive deposits.

With water purification systems available to suit every budget and demand, you will be able to give your family the clean, uncontaminated, pollutant free water that is so vital and necessary for a healthy life.

A Drinking Water Filter System Can Protect Your Health and Wallet
Most people do not put much thought into the safety of their tap water. It is not uncommon for someone to simply walk into their kitchen, turn on their faucet and fill up a glass of water for their child to drink. However what would happen if you told that same person their faucet is potentially filling up a glass of prescription-drug-laden water, or bacteria that got through the water treatment plant?
Water Filtration Systems Provide Great Health Benefits
In areas with less than high quality tap water, water filtration systems are becoming an item for interest to help provide a healthier and cleaner lifestyle. A quality filtration system can eliminate harmful chemicals and substances in tap water that the naked eye can't identify, and the common person who bathes, drinks, and cooks with would never stop to consider.
Drinking Water Filters Can Help Protect Against Pharmaceuticals in Tap Water
We've all heard the horror stories on the evening news. New research is frequently showing that tap water-even in states with typically higher quality tap water-is being found to have all kinds of chemicals, most recently traces of pharmaceutical drugs. Drugs like anti-convulsants, antibiotics, mood stabilizers and other prescription drugs have been found in the drinking water supply of over 41 million Americans. Are drinking water filters the answer to this problem?
