Yeast infections are the pits, aren't they? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a home yeast infection remedy that was fast, easy and really worked?
There are a ton of sites out there that list home remedies for yeast infections, but not all of the remedies work, some are just plain dangerous, and some can actually even make your yeast infections worse! Before you use a home yeast infection remedy, be sure you know the possible side effects. I've outlined a few here for you to start with:
Gentian Violet
I've seen gentian violet listed on several sites as a home yeast infection remedy. The first problem with gentian violet is that it has been shown to cause damage to the liver, which obviously is no good. Not only that, but it is horribly messy and stains like crazy. Unless you are keen on having purple stains all over your body, then I would recommend trying something else.
Boric Acid
Boric acid is another home yeast infection remedy that I have seen listed on several websites. Boric acid is the same stuff that they use to kill cockroaches! I don't know about you, but I personally wouldn't want to use that on my body. Check it out for yourself...if you read the side of the bottle you'll see that boric acid is listed as a poison and that it can be fatal. Sure it might kill the yeast, but it might also kill you!
Over the Counter Creams Like Monistat, etc.
The most logical home yeast infection remedy are the creams that you can buy at any drugstore like monistat. Here's the problem. First off, these creams only work to treat a percentage of yeast infections, while they have no effect at all on others. Not only that, but even if they do work, they often don't kill all of the yeast that is present. They only kill the "easy" yeast and leave more resistant yeast behind.
Because the easy-to-kill yeast is out of the way, the resistant yeast then has plenty of room to multiply and thrive. That means that you can quickly get another yeast infection, and this time there will be even more of the resistant strain of yeast than before, making using cream even less effective than it was the first time. This cycle of treating and getting reinfected just repeats over and over until before you know it you have chronic yeast infections that no over the counter cream will work to treat.
Many of the other remedies that you see listed on websites for yeast infections just don't work. If you are looking for a safe, natural home yeast infection remedy you should check out Natural Cure for Yeast Infection by Sarah Summer. It's what I used to treat my own chronic yeast infections, and I had great luck with it. It relieved my symtpoms fast, and then allowed me to get to the core of the problem that was causing my yeast infections so I haven't had another since using it.

Lots of people out there suffer from reocurring yeast infections and some people don't get them at all. Just out of curiousity I thought it would be interesting to see how often most people get them.
