The Divine you

When we hear the term: "You need to Honor the Divine Within" what comes to your mind?

Many years ago when I first started creating herbal products to sell, I based the whole concept of my business on "Honoring the Divine Within". In today's society (and I am sure it has always been the same way) men and women both, have to manage several different titles at once; Mother, Father, business person, wife, husband and so on. One of the main things I have always noticed is how easily (especially for women) to put your own needs on the back burners so you can take care of everybody else. I am not saying that is always the case, but the biggest majority of women does that.

My childhood was much different; I always seem to have to put myself on the back burner because the most important things in the household I grew up in were my mother and step father. Although I do not have children, the one thing I do understand is how easily we can place "Self" on the back burner just so we can take care of others first. My situation was not because they were handicapped or sick; it was just because in their mind they were most important.

I have learnt a lot throughout the years of my childhood, but to be honest one of the most important things I have learned is how important it is to make sure you ALWAYS "Honor the Divine Within"!

You are beautiful!

"Be yourself. There is something that you can do better than any other. Listen to the inward voice and bravely obey that."

~ Unknown Author~

Don't lose yourself...

type=textWhen you continuously put your own needs on hold or on the back burner, you are causing a lot of chaotic buildup on the inside. You are throwing yourself in an unbalance situation that can cause low self esteem, low self confidence, and low self respect. Soon you begin to forget your own Divine Within and your own identity.

I am not saying this is always the case-I am just speaking from my own experiences in life and remembering several conversations I have had with many other women and men who did the same thing. Don't get me wrong, when I turned my life completely around after getting custody of my brother and sister; I have no regrets. I gladly put myself on the back burner because I have always had this Fairy Tale Image of what a mother should be. In my case; if I had the chance to change a few things I think I would- only because I actually lost a part of who I am (or was) when my brother and sister grew up and moved out on their own. I had made the mistake and built my world around them. Finding me again became a very strange, very hard yet wonderful journey on my path.

Finding the Child Within

Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be.

The different parts of the Divine Within

"Believe in Yourself"

Believe by WhiteOaksPhotos

One of the first things I had to do was find my child within! Yes, that little child who lives deep within our Divine who loves to play, joke, be happy and blow bubbles! Every so often my "Child Within" wants me to write so I write lens such as: Faery Bubbles and Faery Kisses and oh my goodness Fairy Cupcakes and a few others. I wrote a poem called: Who could this Child Be? It is listed below.

I treat myself! A few years ago I started treating myself. Sometimes I would stop at the mall and get me one of those stuffed cookies!! OMG, they were so delicious!! Sometimes I would purchase a gift that was on sale and not something I really needed but something I just wanted! Sometimes I would stop and pick up some lunch and go to a park and eat. Regardless of what I did, I treated myself because I was worth it!

It does not take a lot of money to treat yourself. I believe this is so important because pampering yourself and caring for yourself as a human being is such a simple gesture of "Self-Love" but a gesture that can make a world of difference.

Who could this Child be?
©WhiteOak November 2008

I saw her standing there-
Her hair messy and disarrayed
Her clothes were dirty and tattered.
You could tell she was sacred-
Her eyes showed the fear.
Who could this child be?

I saw her standing there-
Peeking around a corner
I wanted to reach out to her
But I did not know how.
When I tried to take a step towards her,
My feet would not move.
Who could this child be?

I saw her standing there-
I wanted to open my heart to her,
I tried to open my mouth to speak,
But the words would not come out.
I felt like I knew what she needed to hear,
I wanted to comfort her but I just stood there.
Who could this child be?

I saw her standing there-
All tattered and afraid,
I fell to my knees
And all I could do was cry.
When I looked up again,
There she was in front of me.
Who could this child be?

As I stared into her eyes,
Something felt very familiar,
It was at that moment, I had an epiphany-
I was this child, and this child was me.
I wrapped my arms around her,
And pulled her close to my heart,
Together forever we will always be,
My Child Within and Me-

Important!

A few simple things-

-Take a few moments each day just to be with you!

-Relax in a warm tub and use a scent that is relaxing

-Buy yourself a Treat, it does not have to be expensive

-Take a few minutes out of the day and smell a flower or better yet buy yourself at least ONE flower and place it by your bed
(when I was single, I did this every payday!)

-Put on your favorite song and DANCE

-Remind yourself that you love who you are and you are proud of all of your accomplishments

YOU are worth it!

I know exactly what you mean about giving parts of yourself away until you don't know who you are anymore. That was the case in my first marriage. I've done a lot of inner work to heal my inner child and embrace my own goddess within. I always love visiting your lenses, they give me so much to think about and ponder.
