Hope in a Jar by Philosophy

While this moisturizer has been one of Oprah's favorite things for more than 10 years, this year for her Ultimate 2010 show she gave it away again, this time with a gorgeous commemorative box for her lucky audience members. The special box included a lovely photo of Oprah as a child surround by her O logo.

This cream is amazing, it really does work wonders and makes your skin feel super soft and hydrated. No wonder it's one of Oprah's favorite things - it's mine too!

Limited Edition Hope in a Jar

limited

You can get the Limited Edition Hope in a Jar Gift Set from Amazon or direct from Philosopy.com. It's the same moisturizing cream as they've always had, but the box is different with a festive red sparkly box.

It was made especially to honor 25 years of the Oprah show.

the Book about Hope in a Jar

This cream has become so iconic that there are even books written about it. I have to admit that I haven't read any of these but I just think it's incredible that someone can fill a book (that's a lot of pages) over one little moisturiser. What gives?

If anyone has read these books and can enlighten why they are so popular (I get that the cream is popular, but the books?) then let us know in the comments below.

Merry Christmas

Give yourself a healthy rosy glow this Christmas

Our Review

Is the cream nice?

Is it worth the cost? You bet it is!

It will make your skin really soft and healthy looking - and it gives it a radiant rosy glow too. Nearly every woman that has tried it have said the same thing - that they love it. It's probably as close you'll get to a miracle cream without they crazy ingredients that some other moisturizers claim to have.

It's also what I call the lazy beauty cream, because you don't need extra serums, eye creams, etc - just this one jar will do you either day or night. If you don't want to try and keep track of a bunch of products, then this is all you'll need.

It has a odd smell - not unpleasant, but definately distinctive. I actually don't mind it myself but it's unlike any other moisturizer that I've used before. While I've never had a reaction, I know that philosopy also make a version for sensitive skin as well.

It does seem expensive when compared to other creams, but it really does last a long long time. My last jar lasted me around six months and that was using it every day. I used to spend much more than that on the combo of products I used to use.

I love it and definately think it is 'hope in a jar'.
