Hornby Dublo
From the original Meccano company, Hornby introduced a range of 00 Guage Trains in 1938.
These 12 volt electric model trains were die-cast with tinplate wagons and carriage
Prduction ceased during World War II and eventually started again in 1948
If you are collecting Hornby Dublo please note that there are a number of reproductions/fakes around so ask vendors on Ebay if the loco/rolling stock is original or a modern reproduction (and if the photo is the actual item being sold) before bidding.
As early models are now a bit old, consider getting electrical fittings and especially transformers professionally checked before use ..
Hornby has been taken over several times and now includes several other companies.
Its recent success includes a model of the Hogwarts Express.
