Tales of Horrid Nanny Abuse

It's easy to take things for granted these days, what with technology making almost everything easier for us. But there's one thing that you must not take for granted - your child's security. You must learn to use the very thing that makes you forget to take extra caution - technology. How so? Make sure you have nanny cams watching over your little angels when you're away. The following are just a few of the many reasons that will make you want to take heed of this advice.

In as little as 48 hours, Cordell-Reeh loses custody of her children and faces charges of child abuse. All these happened after she fired her twin's nanny, Michelle Padilla, because of the latter's refusal to do household chores. The nanny left Cordell-Reeh's apartment, but was not out of her life. The vengeful Padilla accused Cordell-Reeh of neglecting and sexually abusing her children.

Jaffrey and Tami Katz, who were much more cautious, had their nanny's ill behavior recorded. They had a nanny cam watch over the hired nanny while they were not around. What they later saw over the tape was disturbing. The nanny was anything but gentle with their son. She would drop toys on the child's head and would shake him vigorously.

And there's the widely publicized nanny cam case. The video's star nanny, Stephanie Merrill, is now charged with two misdemeanor counts, for exposing the child to risks of injury. In the video, Merrill holds the child in a rough manner and leaves him on the couch for about nine minutes, acts that could lead to his harm.

A concerned father installs a nanny camera after finding out that the nanny verbally abused his 2-year-old daughter at the playground. What he saw on tape was horrifying. The camera at his home's den showed the nanny sexually abusing his little girl. The nanny, Maria Darrosa, was charged with sexual abuse in the first degree and sodomy in the first degree.

There's more to this horrendous list. A nanny cam revealed a 51-year-old nanny slapping and shaking a 6-month-old girl. She later threw the baby on the hardwood floor, after which she kicked and stomped her.

Yet another granny-nanny, a 62-year-old, was caught on tape as she assaulted a 10-month-old baby. She slapped and kicked the baby on the buttocks. Then she put a stuffed toy on the baby's face. The baby was left struggling for air.

A 15-year-old baby-sitter was charged with 11 felony counts for sexually assaulting two 8-year-olds. The law suit required strong evidence. The nanny cam provided just that.

The message is clear-nanny cams are necessary. Actually, this is an understatement. Parents need to undergo just about every precaution necessary. This may not be a good time to throw your caution to the wind. So do get your hand on a nanny surveillance system. No home should be without hidden nanny cams.
