Drollerie's Imprint for Horror eBooks

Grotesqueries: Horror eBooksHorror ebooks will take you through the darkest nightmares right up to the most malignant monsters and then leave you there. Horror ebooks tell stories that are too scary and taboo-breaking by authors too unknown for the publishers of print horror. Discover what real fear is when you read these stories and realize that, long after you finish that last sentence, the story still remains festering in your brain.

The Horror ebooks from the Grotesqueries Imprint of Drollerie Press will take you on a horrific ride through the darkest labyrinths of the human...and inhuman...psyche, all for less than the price of a mass market paperback.

Nocturne by Angela Cameron

A "talented" Horror eBook

Newspaper reporter Alyson Wingate's life is comfortable. Safe. She likes it that way. She suppresses the "talents" she's inherited, and ignores the precognitive dreams she shares with the other Wingate women. She likes having a normal life. Even the late night work and cheating ex feel right.

Then she finds a corpse on the road with its throat torn out. When she begins to investigate the death, she finds herself running for her life in the middle of a werewolf-vampire turf war. And the only place to run is to Wil, her ex, if she wants to stay alive.

Aly's a fighter. She fought to be normal. She fought to be safe. Now she's fighting for her life. Maybe she'll win this one, but the odds are against her . . . again.

Scars on the Face of God: The Devil's Bible by C. G. Bauer

An Intense Horror eBook

Hex signs protect every barn and outbuilding.

The local tannery spews its poison on the land and in the river.

And babies disappear at birth.

An orphan and one-time felon who earned his nickname "from the sound a crowbar makes when it hits a man's head," Johannes "Wump" Hozer is now the custodian of Our Lady of the Innocents parish in Three Bridges, PA. Wump is old and tired. He's fought all his life against the tannery's waste, against God, and against the blind eyes of his good neighbors. Nowadays he tries to ignore the old priest's exploits with the young women of the parish and the strangeness surrounding the local orphanage, and does what good he can for his wife, the church, the sisters who run the orphanage, and the poor orphans themselves.

Then childhood memories and strange presentments begin to plague Wump when a brick wall unearthed at the site of a new restaurant collapses, and raw sewage carries hundreds of baby bones into the pit left behind. Looks like the devil's made Three Bridges his playground, and Wump needs to find out why; the babies keep screaming and he has to make it stop.

Restless Shadows by Jennifer Cloud

A Horror eBook People Are Dying to Read

Anna Carswell is a sensitive. Knowing that her parents don't really want her or understand her, she attempts suicide at the age of 16. Death comes to gather her up and they become fascinated with one another. Anna's parents discover her before she dies, however, and her life is saved. After her recovery, she finds that she can tell when someone's been marked by death and occasionally sees him as he goes about his business. She even has a nickname for him, Shades, and she blames him for ruining her life, forcing her to see death everywhere she looks.

Nick's sister was kidnapped at gunpoint by a home intruder when Nick was a little boy, then raped, strangled, and left in a ditch. He believes it was his fault-he forgot to lock the front door-but that the boogeyman in the basement did it. He believes the boogeyman was Death. After his sister's death and continuing throughout his childhood, Death visits him, slipping in under his bed to whisper secrets Nick doesn't want to hear.

Nick and Anna cross paths in college. Though they've been interested in one another for a while, the spark doesn't have a chance to grow until they both sign up to go on a trip to Europe. Neither knows the other has a secret goal for this trip. They're both hoping to track Death down in its lair, which they believe might be the catacombs under Paris.

Professor Archel hopes to get something out of this trip too. He says he wants a paper, but what he really wants is Anna. As he plans the trip and his conquest of her, he becomes so obsessed that his narcissism turns to madness and, after he discovers her interest in her fellow student, decides to kill Nick to gain her love.

Restless Shadows, set amidst the bone yards and ossuaries of Italy and France, is infused with a dark intensity that will keep you reading long after the lights should be out.

And when you do turn out the lights? Don't forget to check under the bed.

The Revenant Road by Michael Boatman

A Bloody Good Horror eBook

Obadiah Grudge is tall, dark, and handsome. He dresses well and has a taste for the finer things, so it's a good thing that the bad mysteries he writes consistently hit the top of the bestseller lists. The critics hate him; his public loves him. He's got everything he wants. Then one day he gets a call. His estranged father is dead, and it's time for the family funeral.

And then things get worse.

While his mother, his father's partner, and finally his father's ghost work to convince Obadiah that he's special, he's discovering that for himself. He barely escapes death by deranged killers, not all of whom are human.

It seems his father's death has put his feet on The Revenant Road, and there's no escape from that.
