Horror Films: The Gore, The Blood and the Ugly

Ranked #42,509 in Entertainment, #514,215 overall

What is is about horror that keeps fans coming back for more? Is it the blood, guts and gore? Or is it the rush a person gets from watching it?
I know for myself it is just a part of me. I am a horror nerd, a horror addict, a horror buff and on and on. I been involved in the horror world since I was young. I started out with the good ol' Universal Monster movies to the cheesy 70's flicks to todays CGI effects, and blood curdling scenes.
I am so super into it, that I am in the process of writing a book about horror flicks. And not just any kind of horror films, but the smaller house ones, the indies, which I am a big fan of. I started with just an idea, to talking with Indie directors, to getting over 75 films in the mail to review and write about. Now I am involved in the horror film industry, even just as a writer about them...but I am still just a good old horror nerd.
I am happy to say that when this book is finished, there is a second book in the works pertaining to the bigger house movies....or actually should I say the blasted remakes, some good, some bad.
So here I am, wanting to share my love of the horror films to the world. May it be a review....good or bad, a best of or worse of and so much more.
So come...enter my world and please
Have Happy Nightmares!

First, the movie

Some samples of what to start your own horror collection with. The beginnings of course, Hammer Horrors is where to always start if your new to the horror world. If your already a lover of the horror world, then you should have Hammer films already in your collection, and if not.....shame on you...stop right here and go get them. (okay, maybe wait till your completely done here, I won't scream too loud yet)
And then I want to really recommend the After Dark films. I fell in love with these films the first moment I saw that blood dripping off the tv screen into my living room. Those are the films for the real gore factor and fantastic storylines. These are movies that make you think....and shiver.
