Barbaro

2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro will be remebered for his gutsy determination and his will to live. The spirited colt never lost a fair race, undefeated in six starts until he was pulled up from the Preakness Stakes due to an injury in the opening stretch. Although his original injury healed, he was overcome by laminitis, a disease that strikes hundreds of horses every day. Today Barbaro's memory is being honored with the Barbaro Memorial Fund to help raise funds for equine health and safety, and the fight against laminitis.
