Winston Churchill said: "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man."
Although I've never had a horse of my own, I grew up around horses and have ridden since childhood. However, it was not until I moved to Kentucky in 1994 that I truly came to appreciate the beauty and grace of horses.
Of course we have thoroughbreds here in Kentucky and there is nothing like watching those beauties in action, but we have many other breeds of horse here as well as race horses. We have working horses because we breed a lot of cattle here in Kentucky and we have many different types of show horses. One of my favorite places to visit is the Kentucky Horse Park which is home to more than 30 breeds of horse.
