Horton the Elephant is featured in two Dr. Seuss books, the first "Horton Hatches an Egg" and the second, "Horton Hears a Who." "Horton Hears a Who", the new feature film produced by Blue Sky Studios and released by 20th Century Fox started March 14, 2008.
Horton the Elephant is a good character that can be used with the Horton books or films to teach children about friendship, kindness, loyalty, patience, persistence and tenacity. With his expression that "a person's a person, no matter how small" children can learn about kindness and of being careful with little things, whether they are little children or littler things like bugs.
Since the first Dr. Seuss book was written in 1937 by Theodor Seuss Geisel (who wrote under the pen name of Dr. Seuss) the many different Seuss books have sold over 20 million copies worldwide, been translated into fifteen languages and several made into television programs or featured films. The Horton books are consistently among the top-selling of all Seuss titles generation after generation.

Taking my Grandchildren to see it....but that's my excuse to see it! LOL

I tried to talk my husband into going, but with seven kids it would cost a small fortune. Alas, the IRS is also requiring a slightly larger fortune this year. So, I guess we will be waiting for the DVD.

My husband and I just took our daughter to see it yesterday. :)

I keep saying to my finance if we don't go soon we'll miss it and he's like "we can't miss it will have the rest of our lives to watch it, it's a movie".
Posted March 29, 2008
I actually already watched it and found it very entertaining. It is a nice family video.

I'm hoping to see it soon! It is difficult to get some family members to attend a Dr. Seuss movie--they seem to think it's just for kids.
Posted March 20, 2008
Didn't miss it! We took 12 children ranging from pre-Kindergarted to 2 grade. They all enjoyed it, as did the 6 parents and one grandparent who went along.
Posted March 19, 2008
We were there on opening day, the theater packed, and the movie was hilarious!
Posted March 17, 2008
It looks like a great movie! Sure to make a great family movie night.
Posted March 17, 2008
Waiting for the DVD! I wouldn't dare pay to go to the movies with my little one yet. I doubt she'd sit through it!
Posted March 27, 2008
I've seen and heard of many things, but alas I think I must be missing the boat here.
Another penalty for lacking in the children department.
But he sounds like great fun...
Kind Regards

I'm not a big fan of Dr. Seuss, but my daughters love his books, and are going today actually. It should be a good movie with all the characters in it.

Unfortunately, my niece is too old to use as "cover" anymore, I'll have to wait for it on video. Then of course I'll buy it,
