We're Having A Party
I am hosting a Webkinz Party at our shopping center here in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. I have pretty good ideas about what to do, such as activities and how to put them together, but would like more ideas. For those of you who have built the Wheel of Wow, how did you do it?
Spring Festival: Real Life Version
Wind Machine
If you have access to a wind machine (you know the box where you get in and try to catch as many flying items, usually dollars, as possible in a short time), well use that for a Festival of your own. In Webkinz world, you have to click on the floating leaf, snowflake, whatever, in order to win a prize. Same thing, with the wind machine, you put in a lot of a small prize, a few of a medium prize and only one of a grand prize. Partipants are given 30 seconds, more or less, to catch the prize.
Now I know, you are asking where does one get a wind machine? Well, I borrow one, but I'm lucky. But you could build one. All you need is four sheets of plexiglass, a sturdy base, a vented top and four upright supports to hold it all together. Oh, and one side needs to have a door. Also, on one side, cut a small hole in the back to insert a small leaf blower. Put the "prizes" in, the contestant in and shut the door. Turn on the leaf blower and move it back and forth to make the prizes blow around. The contestant cannot trap the ticket, he or she must catch it. Also, it is a good idea, not to show the contestant what the grand prize ticket looks like, unless, of course, you want to give away the prize. It is also a good idea to have the contestant wear safety goggles, as well as ear protection if the leaf blower is very loud.
While the initial outlay may be pricy, the return on your investment will be realized quickly by renting out the wind machine booth.
Oh, make sure you have a camera, because you will definitely what to capture these events.
