Hot in Cleveland

I liked The Golden Girls, but I LOVE Hot in Cleveland! But they are really the same show just spruced up and in my opinion, improved! Even the characters are basically the same, and not just because Betty White was in both shows! And just like the Golden Girls, we can see parts of ourselves in each character and it gives us hope!

Melanie,(Valerie Bertinelli) the main character in Hot in Cleveland, is really Rose; naive and lovable. But this one is updated to be a more capable woman. She isn't just dumb and sweet, she is also vulnerable and has an edge. We can see our more vulnerable selves, but know that even in that state, we can survive

Joy, (Jane Leeves) is the more cynical of the group, just as Dorothy had been. Both had been knocked around a little bit, but won't be knocked down. Joy has an interesting back story of a son she gave up for adoption years ago. Yes, ladies, we can be bitchy and still lovable!

Victoria (Wendy Malick) the glamorous model is the famous version of Blanche, both are narcissistic, yet somehow lovable. We can see our worst selves and laugh at ourselves, yet make a note to do better!

Ilka (Betty White) does the Sophia character, the old lady who says what she thinks, no holds barred. But Sophia did it because her mind didn't work as well as it had, but Ilka? She knows what she is doing, she just loves that she can get away with it!
