Hot Stocks Investing

Ranked #24,635 in Education, #449,918 overall

In the stock market trading game, investing hot stocks are a good strategy to have in generally bullish market conditions. Given the right timing and right stock-picking decisions, a trader can make more profits at a shorter time frame in hot stocks investing than he would in a buy-and-hold strategy. In this high-risk strategy, the risks of losing from hot stocks falling below minimum exit levels are counteracted by the great potential of profits from shooting stock values over a few months period.

While running contrary to the common practice of buying low and selling high, hot stocks investing is a trading strategy that has been proven to bring in more profits in a short period of time for experienced traders. The trick to the strategy is to buy it when it's hot and to drop it when it's not. In this strategy, traders let go of non-performing stocks to use the capital to invest in high performance stocks moving on a momentum. This means that hot stocks are expected to shoot up in value in the coming months. Just before the momentum reverses, the trader has to make a decision to exit his position and preserve his gains. This strategy has succeeded in bringing profits of double or even triple the original stock price in just a few months.

Knowing when a stock is hot and when it is not is a skill that any successful trader engaging in hot stocks investing should have. A good grasp of market and stock performance indicators are musts to succeed in this trading strategy. Among the things to look for in identifying hot stocks are a strong price chart, rapid earnings growth and recent upward changes in earnings to growth forecasts. Some experts add profitability and sales growth to these considerations to weed out those stocks that are actually fundamentally weak.
