Vacation in Newquay at the Esplanade Hotel
Ranked #21,141 in Travel & Places, #488,207 overall
Welcome to Newquay and the Esplanade Hotel
The beaches are probably a big part of this; there is a choice of beaches locally all of which are of golden sand (no shingle here). These beaches are great for children, popular with surfers (north coast conditions tend to be pretty good)and great for sunbathing on if you prefer a less active approach to your holiday!
Though vacation/holiday trends shift as much as anything else in society there has always been a place for friendly hotels offering full board accommodation to families with in-house facilities to keep everyone happy.
The Esplanade is such a hotel, offering 3 star accommodation with family rooms, a soft play atea and two swimming pools. It just happens to directly overlook Fistral Beach too, as an added bonus!

A great place for a vacation.
Facilities at the Esplanade
The Esplanade is a fairly modern hotel in style, having been given a through refit/modernisation quite recently. The interior has character but is fresh and comfortable with a good standard of fittings throughout. The hotel comes equipped with both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a jacuzzi, sauna and solarium. There is poolside seating to soak up the sun before and after your swim and for younger guests there is a soft play area and table tennis.
The Esplanade hosts a regular programme of live evening entertainment for its guests.
Facilities within all the bedrooms are very good. With 93 rooms, the Esplanade has the space to offer choice, with rooms catering to singles, sharers, couples and families. All rooms are en suite with colour television and tea/coffee making facilities. Many have stunning sea views whilst a range also offer a private balcony and seating from which to enjoy it.
The "Premium" rooms at the Esplanade do not have sea views but are larger then a standard room and come with trouser press and large jacuzzi bath in addition to the usual facilities.

Surf and Watersports breaks in Cornwall.

The Esplanade is an ideal holiday location for keen watersports enthusiasts. For surf and body-boarding there are the great beaches of Newquay right on the doorstep like Fistral, and Lusty Glaze whilst other north coast beaches like Porthleven and Porthtowan are a short drive away so that you can always catch the best of the north coast conditions.
Cornwall's watersports are more varied then just surfing, however and coastal kayaking and windsurfing are also popular in the area though for the novice kayaker we would always recommend taking part in an organised outing with a qualified instructor/guide in the first instance.
Sailing is also a popular pass time and there are any number of good outdoor activity centres in south west Cornwall where you can learn to sail or brush up on your skills.
The Esplanade has links with both the outdoor activity centre at Lusty Glaze beach, Newquay and with the Roxy and Quiksilver Surf School in Newquay, so if you fancy taking to the waves or trying something exciting outdoors let Reception know during your stay and they will point you in the right direction!
