    the first hot hatch is NOT the golf GTI (1976) but the renault 8 Gordini (1964)

    I think the first one was actually the AMC Gremlin, released in 1973. They were all the rage when they came out, EVERYBODY wanted one. We even had two of them! I know people think they are a joke today, but when they came out the Gremlin was a really hot little sportscar that everyone was trying to get their hands on.

    I usually don't pay attention to cars, but this lens was really interesting! The modern hot hatches you shared are neat.

    We are painfully short on 'hot hatches' in the States! We need to get a few of these fine European models over here!

    I had to give up my hatch after kiddo number 3. Yup, I'm stuck in minivan heck now.

    Great photos. Great cars. Had lots of Hot Minis before the GTi started the Hot Hatch craze. Also has a Pug 205GTI 1.9. Nowadays have to make do with the family mans version - a VW Touran Sport 2.0 TDi, still a great car, just does have the same image. 5*'s.
