Adriana Lima's Hot Stuff

Adriana Lima was born in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.  Her stunning look is the sum of her French Portuguese, Native-American and Caribbean roots.   

She rose to fame when she came in second in the Ford Supermodel of the World Contest - when she was just 13 years old.  A mere three years later, she made her way to New York City, where she signed with the prestigious agency, Elite Model Management.  Under the direction of Elite, Adriana's portfolio began to include magazines appearances such as Vogue, Marie Claire, and others around the world.  In addition to her magazine work, she strutted her stuff on the catwalk for designers like Cynthia Rowley, Vera Wang, Emanuel Ungaro, Betsey Johnson, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, and Valentino, among scores of other major players in the fashion world.   

But it was here appearance in the Summer 200 swimwear catalogue for Victoria's secret that really shone the spotlight on Adriana, who appeared alongside models like Heidi Klum and Laetitia Casta.  Since then, she has appeared as a Victoria's Secret Angel in televised fashion shows for the lingerie giant in 2001 and 2003.  

Lima's face has also been seen in ad campaigns for Maybelline cosmetics.  In her personal life, Adriana was engaged to rocker Lenny Kravitz in 2002, but they never made it down the aisle.
