shton was born on March 31, 1975 in Newport Beach, California and when Ashton was quite young, she and her family moved to Arizona.

She began her career after high school working at some local clubs as an exotic dancer. Soon after, she submitted some photos of herself to Hot Body International, which got her a appearing in a pay-per-view contest. That appearance caught the attention of an agent, who introduced Ashton to several magazine photographers, including Suze Randall. Suze began to shoot Ashton's photos for features in magazines such as Club, Club International, High Society, Cheri, and Penthouse. That experience led her to the adult film industry. She signed a contract with Ultimate Pictures/Adam and Eve Productions in the late 1990s, under which she starred in a few films.

Ashton left the film industry to finish her degree, and after two years away she was back on set. On January 1, 2002, she signed an all-girl contract with Jill Kelly productions.
