This 90 minute hatha yoga practice is ideal for anyone who wants a challenging yet meditative yoga class that does more then increase your flexibility. It helps detoxify your body through the stretches and perspiring as well as your breathing.

Bikram Choudhury created the sequence of 26 poses and 2 breathing exercises to help heal and strengthen the body in its specific order, each posture designed to help the body prepare for the next posture.

Bikram Yoga For The First Time

The Only Bikram Hot Yoga Studio In Etobicoke

First timers to a hot yoga (Bikram Yoga) class should be educated with a couple of pointers before entering any yoga studio, be it hot or not.
  • Most yoga studios will have you take your shoes off upon entering the premises or change rooms. Definitely, shoes will not be permitted inside the actual practice room. They may possibly allow indoor flip flops in the lobby and change rooms but to be on the safe side, call them up and ask them. Here at Red Tree, bring some flip flops for your new yoga journey, just keep them outside the practice door before entering the hot room.
  • Please remember that silence is golden inside the practice room. When you come in, feel free to chit chat with other members and ask questions in the lobby or change rooms :). We are open in any way possible to help you get the most out of your Bikram Yoga experience and create a fun and friendly atmosphere.
  • Be prepared to sweat! During the 90 minute intensive class you will be in a room stretching to your maximum so your body will be detoxifying and circulating blood and oxygen from your head to your fingertips to your toes! We have towels and yoga mats for rent and sale. However, if you prefer, bring your own yoga mat and two long towels; one for your mat and one for your shower afterward. A change of clothes will be a must of you came in your yoga clothes!
  • Your goal for your first class will be simply to stay in the room. If you feel dizzy or nauseous during your first class it's ok. You are not used to the heat or the sequence of the class therefore setting an intention and mindset that any feelings you may encounter will pass will be your best bet to stay in the room. It's setting an intention as well to prepare you for an even safer and stronger practice for the future. Remember that you have made the decision to try the hot yoga, so respecting the room and the students inside the room and trying your best to take it easy if you need to is key to having a successful first class! Your GOAL is to STAY in the room, not finish every posture until you can't take it anymore and have to leave the room. Getting used to your environment is the first step to creating a healthy practice.
  • Let go of the preconceived notion that you have to already be fit or flexible to try Bikram Yoga. The heat is there for a reason. To help you get into your stretches safely and effectively to get the most benefits possible. The hardest part of course is to just make the decision to come. It's always the first step that s the most difficult. The more you do it, the more you'll feel why it works.

What Is The Thirty Day Challenge?

The thirty day challenge is done periodically during the year to challenge students who want to take their practice to new levels. The Goal is to complete 30 classes in 30 days. Change happens when you do something for 30 days consecutively. It's fun time too because the studio has a fulfilling and high energy thats fun and exciting! Try it out, it's only 100 dollars to do and you can come more then 30 times if you'd like :).
