HERE'S WHAT I THINK
housekeeping
A few weeks ago,I happened to go out to dinner to see the house which my friend had just finished building for himself.After a good look around I noticed one of those magnetic stickers which people put on their fridge doors.The banner was,(Housework is a waste of a mind)and this amused me and reminded me of something which had happened to me earlier in the year.
Whilst I was working on a dairy farm here in Ireland,the owner was building himself a new house with the help of some Polish lads.A couple lived on the premises in a small downstairs flat and the guys partner made a living for herself cleaning peoples houses.However I often finished milking in the evening and when I came out to go home,there she was invariably,cleaning the flat.
That night when I got home,in all innocence,I asked my wife (Why is it that women like cleaning so much?)I was totally unprepared for her answer as she turned on me like a cornered Tigress and I received an almighty bollicsing.She said that I had said a lot of stupid things in my life,but this one took the cake.That the only reason that women clean is because they have to because men are too lazy to do it and anyway men can't see dirt.I was truly astounded by the vehemence of her reply,but it did give me a new insight into us sorry lot.
I have never had the courage to talk to my wife about this again,but it begs the question;
DO WOMEN LIKE TO CLEAN?

I hate to clean, but I hate dirt more. So imagine living with someone who created a lot of dirt and left it for you to clean. Yup, mad, angry, etc. etc. Women aren't complex, just not obvious to men who don't see dirt. ;)

Against my better judgement I'm going to have to say yes hoping it will get enough women riled up to give the debate a go.Here's hoping

Can men see dirt?
Stazjia says:
I hate housework and cleaning but I hate mess too. The two don't compute so I have to clean and do other housework to be comfortable in my home. I don't think many men see dirt in the same way women can - I can spot a cobweb no matter how small. My partner wouldn't notice if a room was festooned in cobwebs!

I don't think women like to clean as much as they like being surrounded by cleanliness.

I abhor cleaning and housework in general, however, seeing things untidy or "dirty" upsets me greatly. So, I clean it. My husband doesn't mind messiness unless he personally is put-out by it. He cleans very well under duress, though. If I piss him off enough, he'll get it done!

I agree that women hate to clean as much as we do, but they are more aware of when a place is dirty, and some of them (not all!) prefer to do regular maintenance to keep a place clean, rather than making it a major project once in a while.
Although us men see dirt and dust, there is usually something else that takes priority - like working on our lenses maybe :)

Yes, I think men can see dirt, they just pretend they can't so their wife/girlfriend/mom will clean up after them! I personally don't like to clean, I do it because I like the end product~ a clean house!

Mine can, indeed, see dirt and is a better house-cleaner than I am. I don't like to clean, though I prefer to do it my way and, for goodness sake, stay away from my kitchen! Nobody takes care of my kitchen the way I like it but me. (I love your wife's comment!)
