Houseplant Killers
1. OVER WATERING
2. IMPROPER WATERING & SALT BUILD-UP
3. LOW HUMIDITY

Lack of humidity does in a great many indoor plants, especially in an air-conditioned room. You may first notice this as browning leaf tips.
4. INSUFFICIENT LIGHT

Plants that are not getting as much light as they
need will look pale, rather than a healthy green and new growth is spindly, as it reaches for the sun.
You may also notice that the new leaves are smaller than usual.
5. EXPOSURE TO DRAFTS

Placing an indoor plant, especially a tropical or blooming plant, near a frequently opened door to the outside or too close to a window with limited insulation will have have the same effect as leaving the plant unprotected outside.
6. EXPOSURE TO DIRECT HEAT

Placing your houseplant near a direct source of heat, like a radiator or duct, will not only fry your plant, but also speed up dehydration.
7. IGNORING PEST PROBLEMS

Indoor pests multiply quickly. There are no natural predators to keep them in check, so you have to be very diligent about checking for symptoms.

Spider mites, aphids, mealy bugs and scale can cover a plant in a days. If severe enough, the plant may never recover.
8. ALLOW IT TO BECOME POT BOUND

When a plant outgrows its pot, the roots circle around inside the pot and start to restrict themselves. Pot bound plants often seems to dry out more quickly than normal because the ratio of roots to soil is too large.

PLANTCARE GURU - Houseplant

The ultimate resource for care information on indoor plants (houseplants).
Houseplant Care
Contents include:
* An in-depth Plant Care Guide on how to care for specific interior foliage plants.
* Detailed horticultural instructions on watering, lighting, pruning, and fertilizing.
* Easy to follow self-diagnosis symptom charts.
* Comprehensive troubleshooting information on treating deficiencies, diseases and pests.
* Photographs of plant varieties.
Why Indoor Plants are Different:
Plants that are known as "indoor plants" or "houseplants" are varieties that have been bred and specially grown to sustain life in the interior environment. Nearly all of these plants are native to tropical, sub-tropical and arid regions of the world. The native habitat of each indoor plant is listed in our Plant Care Guide so that our recommendations on light and water carry additional meaning.
Our care instructions may differ from other resources available to you. This is because the content of Plant Care Guru is exclusively written for sustaining plants in an indoor environment. Growing plants outdoors requires an entirely different set of instructions. Although some background information is anecdotal, Plant Care Guru is void of care instructions from "old wise-tales."
About the Author:
The contents are a compilation of excerpts from the Planterra Field Guide, a proprietary handbook used by professional horticultural technicians at Planterra, a leading interior landscape firm serving North America.
The Institute of Interior Horticulture (IIH)
IIH is a program dedicated is increasing awareness of indoor plants and the practice of interior landscaping. The IIH originated as a training program for professional plant technicians at Planterra. Elements of this program are now being adapted for the home gardener.

Pothos Plant Wikipedia
Epipremnum aureum, also known as the Pothos (once classified under the genus Pothos), Silver Vine, Money Plant, Centipede tongavine, 'Devils Ivy and Solomon Islands' Ivy''', is an aroid native to southeastern Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia) and New Guinea. It is sometimes mistakenly labeled as a Philodendron in plant stores.
It is a liana growing to 20 m tall, with stems up to 4 cm diameter, climbing by means of aerial roots which hook over tree branches. The leaves are evergreen, alternate, heart-shaped, entire on juvenile plants, but irregularly pinnatifid on mature plants, up to 100 cm long and 45 cm broad (juvenile leaves much smaller, typically under 20 cm long). The flowers are produced in a spathe up to 23 cm long. This plant produces trailing stems when it climbs up trees and these take root when they reach the ground and grow along it. The leaves on these trailing stems grow up to 10cm long and are the ones normally seen on this plant when it is cultivated as a pot plant.
