Survival French - the basic words and phrases you'll need

French is spoken in many countries across the world by more than 200 million people. It is actually the official language in 29 countries and spoken by a large number of people in over 50.

The language has a reputation for difficulty, but once you fathom out the pronunciation rules and fling yourself with abandon into the delights of everyday French you'll realize it's no more difficult than any other language. And the rewards for speaking French are numerous.

You really only need about 300-400 words and phrases to be able to communicate successfully in almost any situation.
