How To Get A Six Pack
Want to know how to get a set of six pack abs? I will tell you the best methods and secrets to achieve not just weight loss, but an ultimate set of abs that you have always wanted.
For most people, 90% of getting a six pack is by losing weight, while 10% is by building up the abdominal muscles. It's likely that you already have a set of abdominals, but they may be covered by fat. Did you know that you need less than ten percent body fat to get a visible six pack?! No wonder it is so hard.
Genetics determine whether your are thin or fat and how easily you gain muscle, but you can beat them by exercising regularly and eating adequately.

My best advice is to keep yourself motivated and to not expect to see results within two weeks. Once you start seeing your fat decrease you will feel more motivated to continue until you reach your goal.
Here are some tips to lose weight:
Use cardiovascular workouts
Any workout that increases your heart rate will burn fat. Running, cycling, swimming, football and even walking, are all examples of cardio workouts. By working out, your body will require more energy, once it has used up it's temporary stores of energy (sugars and carbohydrates) it will start to use your fat stores which will result in you losing weight.
Perform workouts for at least 45 minutes with medium to high intensity.
Running is the top cardio exercise - you can burn 300 calories by running at 5.2 mph for 30 minutes! Cross country skiing is the second best cardio exercise, but unless you live in the Alps this may be hard to do regularly.
Lift weights
Many people do not know that muscle will actually help you burn fat, this is because your muscles need a lot of calories, so the more muscular you are, the thinner you should get. The extra muscle will also help you look even better. Target as many different muscle groups as you can and use 10-16 repetitions.
Maintain your metabolism
Eating small meals frequently will help keep your metabolism active and burning calories. If you have large meals once or twice a day, then this means your metabolism may drop in between meals and you will lose less weight. This is one of the reasons why dieting doesn't always work - by cutting down on food, you lower your metabolism so you burn less calories anyway.
Have protein with every meal, they contain little calories compared to carbohydrates and help build muscle.
Drink more water
Water is important for your metabolism. It contains almost zero calories and keeps your metabolism constant by increasing productivity of your liver, so is a very clever way to lose fat. Drink around eight glasses of water throughout the course of the day (not all at once).
How To Get A Visible Six Pack
Getting to the difficult ten percent body fat that is required for those golden abs takes a lot of time, motivation and energy. Did you know that the best scientifically proven way to lose fat is by following a fat loss program. This s becuase they help you become more efficient at losing weight, so you will see results even quicker AND it will keep you a lot more motivated compared to not using a program. If you have tried losing weight before and given up early, then I highly recommend investing in one.
How To Build Up The Abdominal Muscles
From personal experience, I know that to get a great six pack you need to hit your abs using different workouts with high intensity. Performing hundreds of crunches will be useless for getting a six pack. What you need to do is use a weight while doing your abdominal exercises so that you do 10-16 repetitions until you can't perform any more. This will shock both your fast and slow twitch muscles to maximise growth.Weighted Crunches
Normal crunch - lay on the floor with knees bent. Bring your upper back off the floor, while keep your lower back on the floor. Aim to get as high as you can and the lower back down (that is one repetition).
While doing normal crunch, place a weight (a dumbbell or a weighted plate) either behind your head or on your chest. Make sure the weight is fairly heavy, so that you cannot do more than 16-20 repetitions.
This will target your upper and core abdominal muscles
Leg Raises
Lay on the floor with your legs straight. Raise your legs, while keeping them straight, up to the ceiling and the lower them slowly back to the floor. Always keep your upper torso on the floor. This targets your lower abdominals.
The Bicycle
This has been rated the most effective ab exercise for getting a six pack! Not many people know about this secret, but it targets you upper, lower, core and oblique sections of the abdominals. This six pack exercise is shown in the picture above
* First lie face up on your mat and place your hands behind your head, lightly supporting it with your fingers.
* Bring the knees in to the chest and lift the shoulder blades off the floor without pulling on the neck.
* Rotate to the left, bringing the right elbow towards the left knee as you straighten the other leg.
* Switch sides, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee.
* Continue alternating sides in a 'pedaling' motion for 1-3 sets of 12-16 reps.

- Thanks for the good read. I have only just started to get a 6 pack now and i know its because of my diet. Now that i eat clean i am seeing results. My main ab exercises i do is with my trx it really hits them hard. I have never tried the bicycle but after reading this info i am going to give it a try. Sounds like a really good exercise.
