How Do You Build Free Backlinks

Squidoo is a traffic generating mega site and is a great place to start when promoting your website. Building as many lenses as you can pointing at your site has many benefits. Not only do Squidoo lenses rank high in the search engines, providing you with free and natural traffic, but they offer you and any webpage a PR8 (page rank) backlink which gives your site more authority in the eyes of the strange search engine spiders and bots.

Hubpages is a similar site to Squidoo but is only PR6, and in my opinion is not as much fun. My big tip would be, make a Squidoo lens and then rewrite your information to build a Hub on Hubpages. If you do this once a day your site will consistently build high page rank backlinks to your website.

I swear by this method, it does take hard work but in the long run you will see the effects for yourself. Remember to add your sites RRS feed to lenses and hubs for an extra boost Higher rankings - More traffic - More Backlinks.

Forums are a fantastic place to build backlinks to your website, but not only that, they will provide you with a constant stream of on topic and free website visitors.

The key is to join online forums that are as close to your topic as possible and "Get Involved", ask and answer questions at least once a day.

Always remember to add you website link to your forum signature. You will be able to add this within your profile for that particular forum.

Just think with one "on topic" post per day, on only a few forums will build great backlinks to your site and if you really put in the time and effort, you may just become one of the experts that people turn to for answers. Free Backlinks - Free Traffic

Writing and submitting work to article directories is a tried and tested way of generating massive amounts of website traffic, which also means a lot of backlinks. There are many "paid" systems you could use, to try and dupe the system but using your own original content will always give more authority over people who scrape others work.

This is how I use article marketing: Write a 200 word introduction to your site or product, Write another 200 words (including a 3 stage bullet list) on the pro's and con's of your product or service. Then 200 words teasing the reader to see more information or a call to action, ie: buy now because .... , do not delay because .....

I write these using a simple word document, and at each stage rewrite the 200 word blocks several times. Up to 5 times would be the most though. This will give you 5 x 3 different blocks of text to mix and match. All I can say is give it a try and let me know the out come.

Only use the top article directories because they have the most traffic and there is also more chance of others using your work on their websites.
