What is hypnosis?

When you think of hypnosis, what is the first thing that comes into your mind? Maybe a picture of a sinister Svengali-like hypnotist popularized in movies and comic books. Maybe a comedian persuading people to embarrass themselves in front of an audience? The swinging of a watch on a chain? Perhaps you think of it as a mystical, supernatural or associated with the occult.

These are all very common stereotypes people have about hypnosis. They are, off course, based on ignorance and oversimplified impressions. In actual fact, hypnotism is a serious art and profession that has progressed a great deal in the past few decades.

Hopefully, this lens will provide you with some useful information on how hypnotism works and how you can use it to improve your life and accomplish your goals.

How Does Hypnotism Work?

The word hypnosis comes from the Greek word hypnos, meaning sleep. This is actually a misnomer because hypnosis is in fact very dissimilar from sleep. Clinically speaking, it differs from sleep in the level of alpha brain waves, which are very low during sleep, but high during hypnosis.

In short, hypnosis is not sleep, it is not a surrender of mental powers, nor is it unconsciousness. It's a very deep state of relaxation in which the conscious mind is quieted so you are able to get in touch with parts of your mind that are hidden.

Hypnosis works by relaxing you, giving you the ability to bypass the criticizing part of your mind and choose new ways of thinking and doing things. It's a process through which you can let yourself accept a certain change in behavioral patterns or thoughts. It works by getting to the root of a problem and once the roots are gone, the problem can be easily overcome.

Hypnosis has been successfully used to help with many different issues including weight, smoking, phobias, confidence, stress, bad habits, and many, many more. It's certainly one of the most powerful methods of creating a positive change in a person.

How To Learn The Art Of Hypnotism

Various hypnotism methods can be used by skilled professionals as a tool to help people overcome both mental and physical problems. But hypnosis is not only used by professional hypnotherapists for therapy and medical treatment, it can also be practiced in everyday life by everyday people. This is especially true for a type of hypnosis called - conversational hypnosis.

Conversational hypnosis has been around for decades, just not talked about very much. This is a special technique that uses everyday language to create a trance like effect which is completely different from familiar hypnotized state we see on TV. It's a method of inducing hypnosis by means of natural yet directed conversation. It's based on understanding, that while your conscious mind convey your words, it's your subconscious mind that determines how effective or persuasive your message is.

Humans are triggered by certain words, tones and suggestive phrases. Advertising professionals and politicians have been using this for a long time and most of us have experienced some form of conversational hypnosis in our lives. We just didn't notice.

Usually people don't realize that they are going through a trance, they just find the person charismatic and that is exactly what conversational hypnosis is all about. It's like getting people to do what you want them to do through the gentle and magic power of words.

Can you imagine the impact this skill could have on your life? And yes, it is a skill, it's not a trick or magic, and like any skill, if you want to master it, you must learn about it, and practice it.

Undeniabley the best, most advanced and complete training program on this subject is - The Power Of Conversational Hypnosis.

I am new at this, but conversational hypnosis techniques are not difficult to use and they really work...I mean like magic. I am able to get people to do things and make things happen for myself that I never would have dreamed were even a possibility. I took the master course in conversational hypnosis found here: http://tiny.cc/hypnosis19 and now I have incredible power at my fingertips. I would recommend it to anyone who wants more control over their lives.
